Separate unofficial registries for 2005 & 2006? Or

What do you guys prefer? All S-197 mustangs (new body style) in the same registry or have a separate one for each year?
I haven't added any 2006s yet to the current unofficial registry, so I can go either way.

One plus of having a single registry is a one stop shop to see everyone on TMS who has a new style stang.
The model year column is a possibility. Another might be to add something to the first part of each VIN to identify it as a 05 or 06. For example 05-123456, and 06-234567. That way you could easily sort them between 05s and 06s. Those that don't enter a vin can be identified simply with a "05-" or "06-" in the VIN column.
Would the guys/gals that voted for separate registries, be more interested in a single registry, if you could readily identify who were 06 and 05 owners?

By the way, that's been happening more with this board lately, been getting "docucment contains no data" errors. Did that this time on a submit and got a dupe. Mods, please remove this post if possible. Thx

Hey Mark. You do realize there is already a 5 or 6 in the VIN? It's the first number BEFORE the "serial number".
Here's mine. I'm pretty sure that's which "5" it is. Have to take a look at an '06 to say for sure.

Mark,
I was going to say separate, but if you can designate which year in a column that would work too. If you have that you can still sort by how many have white, WB, Legend Lime, etc.

I knew the VIN had something in it to id the year but didn't realize it was the number right before the last 6 (I drive a 90s car and we used letters back in the 20th century).
So what I can do is request people provide the last 7 of their VIN, and that will allow for distinction between 05 and 06, and will allow for sorting by year if one so choses.
Thanks.

My mistake. It's the other "5" in my VIN that represents the year.
The 5 i had in bold is the assembly plant so there better all have a 5 there.
Here's a link to the breakdown of the 2005 Ford VIN's.

Have the same Registry(Excel Workbook) for all S197's.
A seperate column for each year until the the rows a maxed out.
And, if and when, it exceeds 65536 rows (max allowed by Excel) in an individual worksheet,
you can sort or filter, the year and put in another sheet of the workbook.
Or you can have 1 sheet for 2005 and 1 sheet for 2006 and so on... Just rename the sheets to the MY.
Instead of having the current 3 sheets, Have only "sheet1".
And use the Data>Filter>Auto Filter option to Filter and/or sort.
For Example, Auto Filter will put drop down boxes on all columns
To get all of the Lime Green, GT's Spoiler Delete, you would select:
Column "D"Drop Down arrow=Legend Lime
Column "E" Drop Down arrow=GT
Column "G" Drop Down Arrow=No Spoiler
The results give me 9 LL GT No Spoilers
And if you are looking for statistics on anything, I put a few formulas in to see the how many
and the % of all Mustangs based on the paint choices only
Total of ALL S197 Mustangs
(V6, GT, Roush, Saleen & Unknown's)
210 Black 20.10%
131 Redfire 12.54%
118 Mineral Grey 11.29%
113 Sonic Blue 10.81%
112 Satin Silver 10.72%
100 Windveil Blue 9.57%
96 Torch Red 9.19%
58 Legend Lime 5.55%
44 Yellow 4.21%
41 White 3.92%
22 Z Unknown 2.11%
-------------------------
S197 % Eng
-------------------------
862 82.488% GT
172 16.459% V6
5 0.478% Roush
4 0.383% Unknown
2 0.191% Saleen
Total of 1045 in the August 10th Registry.
Your Thoughts?
I can provide screenshots if you are interested..
Excel is tooo powerful

Here's my VIN broken down.
1st, 2nd, & 3rd: 1ZV = Vehicle Manufacturer: Automotive Alliance International (USA)
(NOTE: Not Ford. All the other codes are Ford Motor Company)
4th: F = Restraint System: Active belts, Driver and passenger air bags
5th: T = Passenger Car Identifier: All passenger cars imported from outside North America or non-Ford built passenger cars marketed by Ford.
(NOTE: Must be why the ERL always said our cars were "Released from foreign assembly plant..." Obviously the Mustang gets this code because it's built at a Mazda plant)
6th: 8 = Line: Mustang
7th: 2 = Body Type: 2 door coupe
8th: H = Engine Type: 4.6L 3V OHC
9th:3 = VIN Check digit: No clue on this one!??
10th: 5 = Model Year: 2005
11th: 5 = Vehicle Assembly Plant: AAI, Flat Rock, MI
(NOTE:AAI's the only one with a number here. All other Ford's have a letter. Must be a Mazda thing.)
12th-17th: 173361: Sequential Vehicle Identifier
From the looks of it, we really do have the Mazda Mustang that Ford predicted oh so many years ago.

Here's a person that knows alot more about Excel than I do. Would you be interested in maintaining the excel spreadsheet for the registry?

Mark,
How did you pull (arrive at) those numbers in this thread, manually or with a formula in Excel?:
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...pic=29557&st=20
I didn't even see this thread this AM/Afternoon. I had the % and totals in the Sticky Registry thread and moved them here.
I will consider your offer, if you truly are serious....I don't visit the forum much, but this can give me a good reason to!!!!
I remember when I had my Shelby(like my Avatar) that I bought a SAAC Registry book (It was think), and it had a place for location, City and State.
When do you plan on updating the spreadsheet?
I can make some changes and e-mail them to you, if you'd like..
Please advise.
Thanks

The polls are closed
Final talley 25 to 24, essentially a tie
I am going to make a command decision and add a "Year" column to my current spreadsheet, and keep it as a single spreadsheet.
Those wishing to look at just 2005 or 2006 data will be able to sort it for their convience.
