Cool

If I stay on track, I stand to take possession of my 2005 Legend Lime Mustang GT this week.

Outdoorstom gave me a few ideas on how he's readying the "nursery" for his own baby, which is due in a couple of weeks.
I combined his list with some of my own ideas and came up with the following:

1. A Zaino starter kit. Everyone is buzzing about this. Must be something to it!
2. As a pre-emptive measure, I will order a replacement gas tank and locking gas cap.
3. Tens-A-Barrier poles and/or safety cones, and a laser-activated perimeter alarm.
4. Depends Adult Diapers and motion sickness bags for passengers.

Am I forgetting anything?

I would recommend a radar detector and a pocketful of cash for gas.

I'd also recommend since you ordered the 5-speed to see if the 2 bell housing bolts are in tact, check to see if you have the Shaker B series, the A skips horribly, that's about it for me right now. I know some people are having front struts "popping" sound, no TSB on that yet though (as far as I'm aware of).

My first and only speeding ticket was in my '96 GT. But I can't get a radar detector; they're illegal in Virginia. What a fun state. In fact, they'll confiscate your radar detector and hit you with a minimum of a $200 fine. Lovely.

As far as the price of fuel goes; that was never a factor. My Audi was a four-banger and got 30 MPG highway to the 'Stang's 25 MPG. Not a bad figure, considering the car's "musclecar" status.

Tom, are you getting butterflies or what? This is YOUR WEEK, buddy! I think of you every time I see a Windveil Blue 'Stang.

Me too Tom, along with myself because I already have the Windveil! You couldn't have picked a better choice ! Tom as soon as you get your stang post some pics, I wanna see how our twins look like. My digi-camera USB cord is not working so as soon as I get a new one I'll send you a PM of the mirrors and for everyone else to see. Costed about 120 bucks. I took the mirrors off myself. I'll be waiting for your post w/ the new baby. I have used the ZAINO Ultimate Car Care Kit, my girlfriend can apply make-up in the mirror-like finish of my car.

Celtic,
Mine is at the ramp awaiting shipment also. Since we are so close to each other, maybe our cars will ride the same car carrier!

Well Chris a full set of floor mats are in order ,you only get a front set with your stang and there a carpet type .There is no ash tray in your stang that is now an option (lighter & cup or just cup) .I got the cup just for the spare change to hang out in (you never no when you need some).
When they P.D.Ied my mustang I had them save everything as much as possible and had them leave the window sticker on when it was delivered to me so that was my gift to myself to remove it and frame it (it now hangs in my computer room ).The bumpers were not drilled out per request ,I wanted to find a bracket for the front instead of drilling the bumper but i couldn't find one to work and if there's anyone who's going to mess up drilling those holes it was going to be me . I also did not have the mustang waxed by them I left the paint alone untill this week end when I clay bared it and waxed it ,I know you can wax right away but I felt a little extra cure up time wouldn't hurt for the paint .
AND don't forget go over it from top to bottom for anything missing or out of place ,if its wrong have it marked down on the pre-delivery sheet before you take the car .
I have the Tank on order now and the skippy 500 is going to get replaced now it's starting to go.
Good luck Chris hope this gives you some ideas

While at home or at work you can practice mashing your right foot down and pressing yourself into your chair while simultaneously yelling "WaaaaAAAAHHHH!!!"

That's a nice looking garage you have there, good work.

I should probably clay bar mine when I wax it, that would really make this thing shine.

Practice arm waving and evasive driving techniques. Everybody will be driving all over the road trying to look at you and giving you a thumbs up. It's friggin rediculous I tell you. You don't see many of these cars around here, people are going nucking futz.

I've been doing that for weeks and months..."air-driving" my new Stang...I keep turning off my Jeep's overdrive and power shifting my auto while continually envisioning how much more fun my daily drive will be in the Mustang!!!

Chris bud your baby is almost here!! If you need a photographer to cover the delivery just let me know!!! If all continues on track mine will be built this week and then we'll definitely have to get the Lime together with the Fire for a TMS photo op!!

Wow, guys! Thanks for all the great suggestions! That list is priceless. I'm going to print it out so I don't forget anything when I go to take delivery.

I was feeling restless today, so I ventured down to the rail depot near Petersburg, about 30 miles south of Richmond. I know it's crazy, but I was hoping maybe I'd be able to spot my car in the sea of cars awaiting delivery to the local dealerships. I know, I'm hopeless!

Anyway, I snapped this pic. It's about as close as I could get...

Thanks again, folks. Y'all

Chris
