6-way power adjustable.

I'm new to new Fords. Are there programable pre-sets? My wife is 6 inches shorter than me. When she's allowed to drive it next summer, , I'd like to be able to hit the button for me and she has one.

Ford does have the ability to offer that. Whether or not it will be in the Mustang, I do not know.

Then you should read the order guide.

Yes, they are presettable ... this is one of the Message Center things

I havn't heard of a memory package yet.

EDIT: But I am happy they moved the controls to the side of the seat instead of between your legs!

guess that means the wife is just going to have to get used to driving with the seat all the way back, if she gets to drive it.

Thanks Kevin.

I can't find anything about memory seats or the message center in the order guide. However, I don't think it will be controlled from the message center. Usually there are two buttons somewhere on the dash or door panel and the seat position is set using a combination of the remote keychain and these buttons. At least thats how the ones I've seen work.

It's probably a good thing that Ford isn't adding memory seats to the cost bucket ... I probably couldn't remember where the controls would be anyway !!

This is what makes people frustrated with dealers. I dont' know if you are a dealer or salesperson or what you do for a living, but I agree, to me its not important because I've owned alot of cars.

But for a person who is getting their first brand new car and ordering it so its the way they want it, YES it is important. I remember my first new car. It was important to me, especially since my family wasn't wealthy so it was unique to buy a new car.

I learned a long time ago to put myself in the other guys shoes and not to judge others so quickly. I think people who are in the sales business sometimes forget that after they have been in the business for a long time. A salesperson may sell hundreds of cars in their lifetime, but some people may only ever buy one new car in their life.

Yes, you will get the nut jobs, psycho's, etc. that are obsessed with things and you have to deal with them, but those are not the majority of people.

I don't want to start a flame war or anything, but you seem to be in the know about things Ford related and people value your information on this forum.

Once you've had some of the nice little luxury items, like memory seats, it's hard to do without them.

For example, the Lincoln LS has 2 seat memories. Besides remembering the seat position (up - down, foward - back, back tilt, cushion tilt, lumbar) it also rembers the rear view mirror positions, steering wheel tilt position, steering wheel telescope position AND the adjustable pedals position.

If Ford offered an option for seat / mirror memories for the Mustang I'd absolutely order it.

I am still trying to decide between leather & cloth.

I've seen pics of the tan GT cloth seats but not any other color. Are there any pics of the dark grey GT cloth seats? I want to make sure they don't look too "cheesy".

It's so hot here that I'm not sure if I want leather, but I don't want cloth if they don't look good.

I've got all my other choices made except that one.

Yeah, well my wife is a full foot shorter than me, and the motor on her 96 Mustang's driver's seat is almost toast. It moves alot slower now, and you have to push it the last inch or two.

You're on the wrong car then. Memory seats, adjustable pedals, climate control, power passenger seat, reverse mirror tilt-down, ac seats, etc are NOT mustang options. Im not trying to sound like a weiner, but I could of told you in 1999 that the 2005 mustang would not have them. I have watched the Ford packaging structure for options for a long time, I can all but guarantee they weren't ever considered for the V6/GT line at any time. I may give advice on buying a car here obviously, but I do not SELL cars here. I have 5200 posts on SVTperformance and have never once tried to peddle a car there either. This car is in a market, and its image is completely price-point sensitive to every penny. I'm surprised the message center made it to production, but even Escape has one now, the technology couldnt cost more then 15 bucks anyway. You are dealing with a car that they deleted the passenger lock cylinder years ago to save 10 bucks. With a little experience in buying trends on these cars, I could see how fast the above mention options would be weeded out by bean counters. Adding memory seats most likely would not sway one extra buyer towards this car. If ONE of its competitors in its price class and market segment had it, mabye.

The technology is in Fords "bag of tricks" if they NEED it. How they decide to market the SVT product would bring up the questions of competitor's options laundry lists in ITS segment.

Are you saying that the people who buy mustangs wont spend the money for some upscale options. Or they cant afford upscale options. Or Ford simply doesnt want this to be an upscale car???
