Sorry if this is a re-post but does anyone know how to find a specific GT (eg. sonic blue, premium, iup, etc..) without entering the zip codes on a "inventory search" on FordVehicles.com? I've entered as many zip codes as possible without getting a hit on the exact car i want.

You'd think that Ford would make that feature available on their website to buyers who don't mind going to a dealer 1000 miles away to get the exact car without waiting 10-12 weeks for a special build!

I do know, that if you can't find what you want, the dealership can call the region "manager" and see what dealer has something closest to what you want.

I assume from your name that you live in Southern CA. If that's the case then I might have found a car close to what you're looking for at Pasadena Ford,
They have a Sonic Blue GT (Premium) w/ dark charcoal interior, 5 speed manual.

To find cars on the lot I did this:

Searched http://www.automotive.com for all dealers within 100 miles of my house. Printed out this list (which had zip codes) and after building my car on FordDirect, chose the first zip code on the list, profiled those 5 dealers, and kept going down the list until I had checked them all off.

I found 0 exact matches (none had ICAP), 2 partial patches (everything but ICAP) and 2 more alright matches (everything but ICAP, and second choice body color). Also, by calling the smaller dealers with no inventory information on FordDirect but only contact information, I was able to find a used GT, a dealer that takes X-Plans and a dealer that actually cared about me!

 

max u didnt wait too long for ur car and u have the IUP/ICAP combo i want...hopefully my order will get schedualled soon
