scratches on billet interior

I just got my 2007 Shelby Gt a few weeks ago and it has the Billet interior. I am guessing that a woman may have drove the car because the steering wheel at the 3 and 9 positions on the steering wheel has small scratches. I think they are there due to the previous driver wearing a lot of rings. Is there anything i can do to get this out? Any polish or anything I can use to buff them out? Thanks

im not one to jump on the high horse, but thats a pretty sexist thing to say.. anyway those trim pieces get scratched easily. Im a 24 year old guy, who never wears jewelry, and my steering wheel trim still gets small nicks and scratches (as well as my SHR billet pieces, but its a DD), I replaced those exact pieces once (3 and 9) and have since decided that its not worth it to replace them again for the forseeable future. the reason it scratches so easily is because of how thin the pieces themselves are

theyre anodized, so unless you want to take apart/strip with oven cleaner and polish(seen a lot of old ford grilles done this way) theres not much you can do...bet you could put a stick on clear film to protect replacements though...

That is. But hey, it's not nearly as much sexist as it is potentially demographic, or possibly profiling, but it's pretty much a good over/under on the number of rings/bracelets a woman has over most men, I'd think.

All joking aside, you can order replacements form the dealer if need be. I don't believe they are expensive, the stock GT ones only run about $12 each. Not sure about the Shelby, maybe a bit more but if it bothers you probably worth it.

There's no difference between the GT and the Shelby GT steering wheels. The Bullitt and GT-500 steering wheels don't have those satin aluminum pieces, which I think are actually made of some type of plastic.

What is a sexist thing to say? Because I said I thought a woman had the car. My wife said the same thing and actually pointed it out to me. **** my wife is so sexist!

Anyway thanks guys! I will hold off for a while on it since its not that bad this supercharger and rotors has put me back. But in the future I may replace them though on the steering wheel because everything else is in great shape

Thank you.. I have done a lot more mods since these pics. She is still at shop getting the supercharger installed and i ordered front and rear drilled and slotted rotors also. I have a big pile of stuff im adding on myself as soon as they get the SC on. I was looking at those painted mirrors and thought about getting the shiny black I think they would like nice.

I went with the roush because my car is only going to be drove as a weekend car and not raced or anything. I was going to go with Kenne Bell but everytime I tried to order I had a problem with the fax going through or them not answering the phone so I just called Roush and ordered. I know the roush doesnt put out the HP like the KB but it will be enough to have some fun on the street when my wife and I take it out.
