A scratch remover that works
...No lie!!
Vanessa was recently the unfortunate victim of a stray dog that wanted into my girlfriend's lap. Said girlfriend, being seated in my car.
Ironic as I was searching for my dog which had gotten out earlier in the day. Of course I'd find a stray dog that wasn't mine.
Anyway the dog left a number of surface scratches in the finish as it was trying desperately to lick my girlfriend's face off.
I finally had an opportunity today to try and address the damage. Hoping that I could save myself some money and not have to have the door professionally buffed, I took a chance on a product I hadn't ever seen.
What I picked up was this.
Quixx scratch remove.
It's a two - three stage system that includes a 3000 grit sand paper, a rubbing polish and finishing compound.
Knowing how thin black paints tend to be I opted not to wet sand the effected area. Opting only for the polish and finishing compound.
Here's the result.
In total it took me about 10 minutes from start to finish. You can still vaguely see the indentations in the paint, but the color is smooth and even. You have to look incredibly hard to see that there were scratches at one time.
So, I saved myself some time and money on a professional repair that may not have been much better than what I got.
I have to say, this is the only "on the shelf" scratch remover that I've ever used that worked as advertised.
Oh, and I did eventually find my dog. It cost me triple to get him out of doggie jail than it did for the Quixx to fix my door.

Okay, so is Vanessa your GF, or the name of your car? Either way, I think the product worked amazingly because I dont see either.
None the less, glad it worked for you. Good info to know. How much was it?

I picked it up at a local AutoZone.
Haha, Vanessa is the car. I don't know if I could ever date a girl named Vanessa...

Just make sure that the oils in the product didn't simply fill in the scratches temporarily. Wipe the area with rubbing alcohol from your bathroom and see if the scratches re-appear. If not, your good.
