Hey Kevin! Quick question.

I "ordered" my car a few weeks ago and was promised that they would put the order in as one of the two initial cars. Is today the day I call them up and make sure they have it ordered? What should I do?
It doesnt hurt to call them, Ford may or may not have confirmed their cars yet. I would remind them.

I just ordered my 05 GT sonic blue fully loaded (Prioriy 10, Order type 1). The sales manager said he will e-mail my DORA tomorrow. I do have a print out of what he put in the computer. There are two lines I don't understand. Can anyone tell me what they mean?

1. Price Level (mine is listed as 500)
2. Retail DLR INV

Thanks for the help.

Ask them If they have actually been able to buy the car from Ford yet, and if there is any confirmation the order will be produced.

I returned from my dealership today after he called me today. Yesterday he talked to there Ford rep and he authorized them for three allocations. So mine and one other one was put into the system. I will go back in the morning to pick-up my order confirmation thing that you all received at the dealership. So I was very happy to get that call today that the car has been put into the system and is part of there allocation set. So far like you stated the Ford rep did not say anything about any restrictions on any GT models to my dealer and my dealer told me when he put the car into the system he did not receive any indication that he was restricted in this order. Thanks again for all you help and you information.

kevin,
Has your dealership said if they are going to offer x-plan on the '05 yet. I was promised by mine that it would not be a problem at all, and a 4 days after I put my order in with them they tell me that they will not offer any plan (a, z or x) for 8 months to a year. Then they tried to sell me an '04, which is a great car, but it's not what I really want. They also said that after production started, I would not be able to order a car for like 6-8 months.
Other dealerships in my area have said that x-plan would not be a problem. My only concern is that I don't want them to tell me something different later in the process.

Thanks

All's I know is that the first batches they most likely wont. Ford may not offer x plan on it for a couple months.

Here is a real quick question. Do you know or have you heard if there will be any delays with the machined cast 17" wheels on the GT? I know that's kind of early to know but I wanted to know if you had heard anything. I got my DORA today on my GT and the only thing that appeared odd to me on the DORA was an * next to where is 64D 17" Bright Machined Cast.... I'm not worried right now I mean a lot can happen between now and production.

I opted to not even mention the X-plan with my dealer until we start negotiating a final price. If at that point I am denied the plan I will probably just pay the extra 2k. At this point I don't want to wait another 8+ months to get my new wheels, although I might because it is a significant savings and it would allow me the additional time to sock more down on the down payment. Hmmmm...

I think they would of planed to have the parts ready for the car before they begin to build it. Sometimes there are supply problems durring a produciton cycle, like King Ranch orders were stuck on "materials hold" status for a few months earlier this year. I doubt it means anything.

Hey Kev,

I just have a quick question about ordering. I'm getting a PIN code from my uncle to use the X plan. Should I get the code before I place the order with my dealer, or can I order now, and worry about using the discount later.

Sorry to join in the bombarding of questions, but I'm new at the whole car shopping thing. Thanks a lot. I appreciate all the info you've given. :worship:

I received a Vechicle Order Confirmation (VOC) from my dealer. I would assume it's the same as a DORA. Did anyone else get a VOC and is it the same as a DORA?
Thanks
Dan

I wouldnt bring up X-plan untill the car is produced and being shipped. X-plan availablility will not be know untill invoices are generated during production unless Ford mentions it earlier.

The form you want is a DORA......It will have the info on it that is pertinent to your order and your Name SHOULD be on it. Keep up with the dealer on the status of your order as it works it's way thru the FOMOCO process.

Kev,

Here's a good one for you. In the military we can get ours factory ordered, but right now they're saying we should base our price on the 04 GT. So being a big time Ford Guy, can you tell us what Invoice and Dealer cost are on 04 GT and GT verts? Figure on the Premium, but not anniversary. Really appreciate it!

Darth

Thanks Kev.

I'll be going to order my Mustang tonight. God knows I'll probably have to explain to the dealer that they can take my order, and place it with Ford.

My name is on the VOC and it details all the options I ordered on the GT it also has the following: Dealer #, Order # 0214, Priority 10, Order Type 1 and Price Level 500. I'm not sure what those mean. The PO Number is blank. So are these guys yanking my chain or did they actually order my car?
Thanks for the help in advance.

As I understand the system...... The VOC is not the the complete step. The DORA is issued about 24 hours after.....This is the form That the dealer and factory uses for orders. I believe there is still a step down the road (Coming up this week) where the dealer "Confirms" the order when asked by the factory. The dealer should have no issue giving you the DORA. This is why you need to keep up with ,and ask the dealer periodically to give you updates.
