Its all bs. All 05 truck shipments with same heads has not slowed down one bit. we have yet another 60 or so F-series Expeds and SD with 5.4's coming in this week alone. The supposed 'head problem' supposedly with the GT is the same problem that was on Job 1 03 Cobra heads, that was fixed a long time ago. Every BON 'news' story sounds like its written by angry Camaro owners.

stupid BON, They should be smashed

Besides, with all the hype and stuff that is going on with the 2005 Model Year of Mustang, ford execs and builders of the engine must have been treating it like a fragile baby, so, no worries

UGH, BON

Man, my whole day has been like this. Ford needs to stop having this happen. It hurts their reputation A LOT.

Hi guys! First post ever! I usually get really ticked at BON too, since it's always depressing stuff....but....I just saw that they updated the story we are all talking about to this now:

updated 08 September 2004, 10:00pm, est.

We are now stating for a FACTUAL matter that Ford has ordered assembly plants to stop shipping 2005 model year vehicles due to defective 4.6L and 5.4L engines.

ok- now i have a question.... everyone here knows that this job 1 isn't the VERY first mustang built... we've all seen mules running around and seeing them well before job one.... so- if they built just a few already- how can they mess up on production?? how were the mules okay.... but not the production- or even if the mules WEREN'T okay- they had plenty of time to correct the problem before production.... any insight???

See...didn't you read the article? It says that the problem was just recently found to be defective on the post-production 05 trucks, and now they are finding them on the stangs powerplants.

But then again, BON is full of propagandizing crap made by chevy lovers to lure ford guys into their dark force. :jedi:

I'm just not really buying into the whole problem thing.

1. If it is true. Then why since they recieved the tip in august. Did they wait until job 1 to post it?
2. Is it really a bad thing that they caught them at the factory?
3. Even if true. Can you honestly think a factory can produce millions of any part for any product. And not have some defects.

I think you need to read the article again, the article never specifically says any Mustang has been found with a defected head.

"Ford has instructed the assembly plants to stop shipping vehicles until they are screened to see if they contain the defective engines"

Since they haven't even started shipping the Mustangs I dont see this causing much of a delay. If it's even true, this BON afterall.

I agree. I'm betting Mustang GTs will be rolling onto the car carriers according to schedule. They quote the inside source saying "Somewhere within two weeks after Job #1 we have an OK to ship meeting where all the upper management on the program proclaim the vehicle is OK to ship. . . .launching a new vehicle in a new plant can have its issues. That's just part of what a launch is all about." This is routine stuff folks. BON is blowing it out of proportion. Check out this list of issues with the GTO:

Even a car that's been in production for years has problems!

WOW! It seems like the GTOs are beginning to disentigrate the fast and harder you drive them. stinks for GTO owners who are experiencing these problems. Some of them aren't major, but still, it stinks to have so many problems on a practically brand new car. Comes to show the type of quality GM really put into these cars.

BON Update.

updated 08 September 2004, 10:00pm, est.

We are now stating for a FACTUAL matter that Ford has ordered assembly plants to stop shipping 2005 model year vehicles due to defective 4.6L and 5.4L engines. Should Ford wish to challenge this information, they know our address.

At this time, we are only ALLEGING that the GT "40" heads are defective.

The article below is presented how it was originally published.

BON makes it sound like the entire lot of engines is defective.

I believe they are just checking the engines to make sure they are not defective. Maybe during quality testing they found a problem and want to make sure than no engines get out to the public.

This is much better than laying down big money for a cobra/mach1 for example and then having "the tick"

Mentioning to Galaxie as well that.... 2 plants (are or soon will be) making the 4.6 3v.
Essex in Windsor and Romeo in Michigan.

This could also coincide with Johns story of 'shortage' reason being why they aren't up to full speed yet (amount other things).

Which means, they are still building GTs and V6s etc..
and this is all part of normal automotive production.
It happens....

With the internet nowadays...everyone can read anything about everything...

Bottom Line,
The cars are being built as we speak, the cars are coming....
No worries boys and girls....
