Does anyone know if it has the flapper in the scoop to close off the intake when the engine isn't running? Or does it just rely on the filter to stop "stuff" from finding there way into the engine?

My dad had a 71 Grand Torino GT with the 351C with shaker. I STILL love that car! There is just something about watching that scoop shake side to side as you get on then off the gas. Plus, you had to love the little "click" sound it made when you killed the engine and the blade closed off the shaker.

What's REALLY funny is my dad thought it was all decorative. It wasn't until he had the car for a while and decided to find out what the clicking sound was that he discovered the intake actually was connected directly to the carb! What can I say? Dad's not quite the car nut that I am!

I emailed Saleen, they said the SuperShaker will fit through the same hole/trim ring as the CDC shaker. Yay! I hope they are right

Not THAT bad when you consider the fact that it has a great deal more potential than the 475 kit - right from the box, and its only $500 more - AND its warrantied.

Relies on the filter.

What do you mean by more potential?

500-700 HP

A stock Mustang GT going with the base ShakerCharger will see roughly 500 at the crank as opposed to the 435 for the base non-ShakerCharger system.

What does "warrantied" mean? The supercharger or the drivetrain

Honestly, I dont know that there will be any discounts available on them for a while. They will be pretty popular I would guess. But - there wont be ADM like there is on some cars

That's good info. I got the 39lb injectors with my Brenspeed kit so it looks like the 1250.00 upgrade would be right for me.

Would you happen to know if the OEM hood with a scoop works as well?

I never pulled the trigger on the CDC shaker because of the ring not covering the scoop holes on my hood. Of course with this one I'll be adding some more ponies, so picking up another hood without the scoop might be worth it in this case.
