It's just a shift adaptor. It uses the stock shifter.
The shift adaptor is a solid piece of metal that extends the lower part of the shifter thus reducing the throw of the shifter. Acording to the specs, the saleen adaptor shortens the throw by 26% where as the others (hurst, Steeda tri-ax) reduce the throw by 40%.
Note that this shift adaptor does not eliminate the problems shifting into third. According to what's been posted on this and other sites, the only sure fire cure for the third gear shift problem is a k-member brace with the torque limiters.
