Scratched mirror case - how to repair?

In short here's what happened:

I was parked at the airport and this idiot parked next to me, only too close and he didn't stop until his (apparently) retractable mirror had gone past mine. Now I have a superficial scratch that can barely be seen, but it pi**es me off knowing it's there.
So, any suggestions what to do about it? BTW, I don't want to paint the mirrors, although that would definitely take care of the problem.

Before someone asks, my right-side wheels are on the separating line because the car to my left was also in my space and I tried to park as far away from it as possible. I guess in a way it's partly my fault, I admit that.
BUT: how the **** did he get out of his car?!?!?! I checked and luckily there were no scratches on my right-side door. Guess he used the other door.

Here are some pics (notice the difference in damage when comparing my mirror to his):

By the looks of how that A$$ ?$*# parked on top of you your lucky all he got was your mirror. I don't know how you can get it out but Ive always believed in an eye for an eye, I think I would have had to return the favor.

For me, I'd either paint it or leave it. If I were you I definitly would have left 2 nice slits in his back 2 tires.

I can't believe those pics. That's insane! I guess you're lucky that there wasn't any other damage. You should've contacted the airport authority and filed a complaint. Never mind, that would've got you no where and probably caused you more aggravation. Try using Mother's Return to Black, or something similar, and buff it out. If that doesn't work, buy some clearcoat black covers. DG Custom Auto makes the ones that cover the entire mirror.

I can't quite see where the damage is, but would those Midwest Autogear mirror covers help? They snap on to the upper part of the mirror and hold on with tape. They're available with factory paint and I think they look pretty good. I have them on my GT.

I know just how you feel buddy, but the best way to get around something like this is to fix up your baby and make her look pretty again. I know it worked for me after somebody keyed the side of our family car. Once it was repaired, my blood pressure dropped about 30 points.

i'd condsider pulling the mirrors off and having them sanded smooth and painted body color. I realize you car is black, but it will still give a great subtle touch

Funny you mentioned those, this happened the very next day after ordering the MAG covers and of course the scratch is outside the covered area!

Well, I'll see if I can buff it out somehow, if not, it's off to the painter's!
