Makes me glad I went through Brenspeed for my Hurst shifter... RPM had the shifter marked at $156.99 until you add it to the shopping cart, where it jumps to $190.00. I saw this last Saturday and waited till Monday to call them. On Monday morning at 10am EST I called and was told they were in the process of revamping their website. I asked if they would honor the price still listed on the page and was told, No. Sorry to hear about your problems, hopefully all works out in the end... and they get theirs in the end!

I'm okay with a company (or a person) making a mistake. We're all human and we make mistakes. It's how they handle the mistake that will tell me whether I should ever trust them again. It's entirely possible that they could do something extraordinary to make good on this, and if so I'll be sure to sing their praises. If they don't, then word of mouth will bite them badly.

One of those BBB complaints is probably mine. They F-ed me royally. I posted about it a few years ago. They sent me the entirely wrong guage pod for my 06 and when I called back a female kept telling me that someone would call me back. I called back several times and kept getting the same run around. Nobody ever called me. The girl finally told me to send it back.......at my expense, and she would have someone call me (again). I started reading all the negative threads and was told by several people that if I sent the pod back I'd likely never get the right one sent back. I didn't send it back. I just made it work. I swear I now know why people call in bomb threats to businesses.............I wish RPM outlet would get more than a threat.

That is on my list of things to do if RPM Outlet does not make good on this in a timely fashion. I always use a CC for online purchases to better protect myself in the event that I should ever have to contest the charges. Have never needed to do so, but it's looking like I may have to here.

I had a different vendor 1.5 years ago who shorted me some parts out of a kit. A couple easy phone calls and 48 hours later and those missing parts were in my hands. That was when I bought my Vortech supercharger from Stillen Motorsports, and an excellent example of great companies taking great care of a customer after an honest mistake was made.

Now that's funny and I'm almost tempted to try this! However, I want to have a solid case against them if I end up getting the BBB and Atty General involved.

Update. Got the O2 extensions yesterday from a local speedshop. I'll be demanding that RPM Outlet reimburse me ($50) that I had to spend. Still no contact of any kind from RPM Outlet. My next corrospondence will be a certified letter. If they still don't make good on this, then their state attorney general and BBB are next on my list.
On a happy note, the SLP X-Pipe and high flow cats are on now! Had to notch a corner of my BMR driveshaft loop to clear the X-Pipe, but great fitment otherwise. The cats hang a little lower than the stock cats, but my GT isn't (and never will be) lower than factory ride height.
A little louder and meaner sounding than before (even with the factory mufflers and manifolds still in place). I like it! And, the car is running awesome now. Took it out for a test drive while we still had dry pavement (it's raining now). Punched it from a roll at 60 mph on the freeway, and it dropped into 3rd pulling strong, then on the 3-4 shift (about 85 mph) the tires chirped hard and the car lurched sideways a bit. Gonna head back to the dyno to see how much difference the X-pipe has made. Maybe 5-10hp?

As to how I killed the cats? I had to pull my Vortech supercharger off the car last spring to send in to Vortech for warranty repair (bearing failure). While it was off my car, I reinstalled the factory airbox, belt, etc. so I could drive the car in the interim. However, I forgot to remove the bigger 39# fuel injectors and test drove the car about 5 miles with too much fuel running through the system. Realizing that the car was running poorly and that the big injectors were still in, I swapped the factory injectors back in, but the damage had already been done. The next few weeks resulted in check-engine lights for codes that the catalytic converters had problems. I kept resetting the codes and hoped for the best. I don't drive this car too much, but the cats finally started to clog badly a couple weeks ago, so I parked the car to prevent damage and ordered the x-pipe.
I personally made a mistake and killed the factory cats, so it was not a warranty fix, unfortunately. I figured that if I had to pay for the fix anyway, I'd rather have an aftermarket X-pipe with high flow cats.
