I would drive anywhere really. There's always the Toronto to Quebec City corridor. Or a drive to New York or Detroit.

But I'd definately like to take her up north south of Algonquin where there are gorgeous winding roads with Canadian Shield (black granite) walls and tall trees lining the side of the road. Been up there many times.....could drive for hours.

Steve, pete, been near Haliburton or Minden? Basically the Haliburton Highlands.
Nice scenery indeed.....i'll meet you up on Highway 40.....

Nah, 69 and 11 are on the "west-side" homey....... gotta take 35 on the east side of Lake Simcoe. Those are some twisty roads with nice looonnggg empty straightaways when you get closer to minden! You should have seen the fun I had with the Probe GT.

I have pics somewhere....I'll post them when I find them.

We went to a "survey camp" for 2 weeks in 3rd year in Minden, Ontario. I went driving sometimes on my time off (what little we had....we were outside for 12 hours a day).

I will be driving from SoCal to Vegas for SEMA. So if you see a Black 05 with IUP and Red Leather on the 15, around Nov. 2nd, It's me. Then at the end of the month, I'll drive up to Tahoe to see the grandparents for Thanksgiving.

Guys, there's a road that connects highway 10 to Belfountain just west of Brampton that's packed with hills and curves. I hear most of the roads leading out of Rosseau are also full os twists and turns, but that's a long trip just for twisty roads. I have a road I can see from my balcony that's twisty too, but short....it just runs down to Port Stanley. Actually, the lakeside road from Port Burwell along Lake Erie to Niagara is a neat drive as well. Mind you, the best roads I've driven were 101 in Northern Cali (in my 96 GT ragtop), and 299 in the same area (with the Cobra) as well as the Cabot Trail (in NS).

I've driven cross country going from Seattle down I-5 to L.A and then to Florida via the southern route. I just drove from Boise to Virginia Beach. I've been all over the western states and now the south. The best states I've driven through in my whole (35 years young) life is Kentucky and Tennessee. I would have never thought it but it's true. Most open and fun, trip from Boise to Las Vegas, oh so fast. Wyoming was wide open also. I'm from Northern California and the coast is sweet but soooooooo slow.

Yup, there are definately some nice roads there...plus its closer to home.

Some nice roads near hockley valley as well.

Good thing about where I'm talking about though is that you can drive for an hour with twisty roads as opposed to 10 minutes or so.

BTW, nice to see another guy from Southern Ontario.

Hey, just like the southern california guys say SoCal, we should call ourselves, SoOns.

darn, this message is getting big.....

So, whereabouts is hockley valley? I'm just starting a two week vacation with little to fill it...any roads within 3-4 hours are fair game. I see Minden is waaaaay north (I'm in St Thomas, down by London).

SoOns......that's cute.

My favorite drive is on Highway 1 along the coast. The scenery is beautiful and the road is fun to drive, although it can be exasperating to be stuck behind an RV that doesn't seem to understand about pulling over briefly to let someone go by.

GhostTiger,

Hockley Valley is just north of Orangeville, Hockley Valley Resort

I gotta check out that road near Brampton, it is actually called Forks of the Credit Road.

I'll take a drive up there when the leaves start changing, too bad I won't be driving an '05 (don't ask what I will be taking)

IMO, there's only one place to go . . . the Tail of the Dragon, Deal's Gap, North Carolina. 11 miles, 318 turns. I've driven it twice and it is awesome.

Indystang, you need to give this a bid when you go to Smokey Mtn. Nat'l Park. You won't regret it.

Here in WV it's almost nothing but curves and hills, so it makes for a great drive. I won't be getting a new one for a while so i'll just continue cruising in the 67

But if I was getting an 05 i'd be heading straight for Myrtle Beach... B)
