I usually drive with my radio up, which keeps me from hearing most noises, but lately I've noticed, with it off, that I can hear every patch of water or sand I hit coming from the wheel wells. Obviously, I would expect to, but sometimes its constant. I feel like I can hear every grain of sand.

I've done a few searches but I've only been able to come up with mostly a bunch of posts about mats and how undercoating is a ripoff from the dealer fo rrust protection and things along those lines. I'd like to coat the plastic they have forming the wheel well with some kind of sound deadener. I've heard spray-on stuff can get messy- so what's the best stuff to use that can be applied maybe with a paint brush or some similar method, that will go on thin but do the job?

I'd like to do this too. I think Ford skimped too much in the sound deadening department. Too much noise in the wells when it is raining.

Try Dynamat. I've used it in my trunk and under the rear seat area. Made a big difference. Also did my wife's CLK320. It made a big difference even on that overpriced bucket of **** nuts and bolts.

I'm thinking of doing this too. The interior trim seems easy enough to remove. Does anyone have any photos/sound clips?

A good site with some great info would be SecondSkin Website Check out the forums. The liquid dampening sounds like the ticket on most applications. Dampening mats for the doors and trunck lid too.

Photos and sound clips of.....um....the sand and water making noise?

I hear a crapload of stuff, too. They recently re-asphalted our streets (cheapest work), and oh GOD, I can hear every single little pebble hitting my wheel well. Its annoying.
