Those prices are stupid. An Aussie dollar is almost equivalent to the Canadian Dollar. This means the GT is over 100,000 US Dollars over there !!!! WTF???

It is not as hard as you think... I took me about 3 days to feel reasonably comfortable driving in the U.K. I did drive while I was in Tasmainia, but only for a day.
The funny thing is that if you drive a stick, the pedals are still the same.... The go pedal is under the right foot. But even after 3 days I still had a tendency to grab the window crank and give it hell when I shifted gears!
Beautiful stang though!

I apologize again for the hijack, but this seems to be the only medium in getting a message through to Phantom.

All e/m attempts getting kicked back, still don't have your PM function turned on to accept new messages.

Anyway, here's my reply to your question...

Sorry, don't have either. But, both MGW and K&N CAI can be used for
reference.

For the Hurst, all the console disassembly and shifter mounting apply.
Main difference is the MGW is 2 pieces where as the Hurst is 1 piece
design.

CAI will be the easiest. I'm pretty sure the only difference is that
the Roush kit won't have a support bracket that attaches to the camcover
(like the K&N has). MAF plug-in and PCV are all the same.

Good luck with your mods.

Right Hand Drive S197

Yes Prices for Mustangs down under are insane , so you have to be really keen to have one.
The exchange rate is about 85 cents OZ to the US dollar , but then theres the container and shipping, import tax ,Goverment Services Tax and believe it or not luxury car tax.
It costs about 80k just to get it in OZ , Then youre looking at about 30k for conversion and compliance. Then rego and on road costs, Then the extras ads up to just over 125k.
So Tax and conversion are the real culprits.

But Hey its only money and you can't take it with you, so I'm going to enjoy it now before I go.

Cheers John Pony

Right Hand Drive S197 Turn Indicators

Did anyone notice the turn indicators on the front are now lights and there are indicators under the GT badge.
Here are some before and after pics and a rear shot of the tail lights.

Enjoy the ride John Pony

For that kinda money couldn't you get a monster of a car? I mean 125k US or 125K (in your money?) is some serious dough. Nothing other there tickle your fancy? But its true, lifes short enjoy it.

Yes JonCo I could have gotten any number of high performance cars but i only wanted a mustang, so it was either a 60s fastback or a S197.
The restomod GT500E was actually dearer than this and even a 65 fastback stock can go for between 50-80k down under and there more than 40 years old.
Once i took a S197 for a test drive i knew it was the car for me so i ordered one. In the end it's what you want that matters not how much it costs.

Enjoy While You Can. John Pony

Jon, VERY COOL, and congrats!!!! You will have a blast with it. BTW Jon, are those Grabber Mustangs next to the Blue Saleen a PJ by any chance? And if I may ask, what do they cost down under? Couldn't help but notice the orange color, rear louvers and side cover over the glass.

Why did you have it converted to right hand drive? Is it a legal thing there? Here in the UK we can drive left hand drive cars legaly, but some do have there mustangs converted to right hand drive cost about £5000.00 ($9750.00)

i wonder, will the cops be mad if you add sequential turn signals since you have the amber signal, also do the red signals still work as turn signals or just brakelights. Those look alot better than the ones i saw on the UK GT500 with the reverse signal in the middle, but it would be awesome if the standard could be like the 1999 cobras that used the bottom bars of the taillight as the turn signals
