My drive home is a one lane for 11 miles or so with a couple spots of 2 lane. At the 1st light I hit, this Ricer Cavalier with a 3 foot high spoiler, tuned exhaust, and huge decal on his window kept running up on my bumper and revving his "tuned exhaust". I did my normal take off from the light which is not excessive as the speed limit is only 40. At the next light he did the same thing except he was revving even quicker. I guess he figured his "Cav" was bad compared to mine. A couple miles later we came to a 2 lane section with a light. He pulled next to me with his bumper about even with my driver door and kept revving and inching forward waiting for the green. When the green hit he took off.
Now I am an old fart and usually do not get baited into this type of nonsense bbut I could just hear him telling his other ricer cavalier friends how he "took " a Mustang GT.
So against me principles, I hit it. By the time I hit 2nd , he was an after thought, by 3rd, he was so far back. I coasted into 5th and he finally caught up. At the next intersection he turned off.
Disclaimer ; I do not condone street racing but sometimes a guy has to do what a guy has to do.

Those punks and POS cars with the coffee can fart mufflers never cease to amase me. What's this world coming to.
However, some of those modded Ricers can give our stock stangs a spanking.

A ways back I spanked a M5 going up a pritty steep incline canyon here in LA.
The stang was new and I just hit the break in point and I said what the heck.
The road narrows to one lane near the top. The look on the womans face in my rear view mirror was priceless.
I feel bad about that to this day :nono:

Nothing wrong with putting a ricer in his place.
A bit off topic, but yesterday I saw a uhhh, not sure what to call it. It was sort of ricer, but was also backwoods redneck. It was a mid 90's Mustang, red, with a hole cut off center in the hood, and a big pipe with a cone filter sitting on it. It looked like a tractor or something. If that wasn't bad enough, it had a HUGE bi-wing on the back, and it sounded like it had a fart can on it . . . had to have been a V6. I guess he doesn't drive in the rain, or maybe the huge filter was fake?
All I could do was laugh.

Team Mustang Source
Good Move.
I've noticed a lot of these Tarted up Cavaliers like to
take a run at a Mustang. Delusional.
So far have ignored them, but I know the Feeling.

Some young lad in a cavalier tried to race me the other night. I had my wife in the car with the a/c on. He kept revving, so at the first light, I just played with him and just kept up. The next light, I let 'er go. I shut down when he was in my rear view mirror. Several second later, he does the ricer fly by.
I can't imagine why anyone with a cavalier would even try and take on a GT when a 4.0L will easily put 'em in their place.

I've tended to notice that my Mustang makes guys feel a bit inferior, especially if their girlfriends are with them.
I'm driving home from a movie (Wedding Crashers: GO SEE IT) and I'm driving down an 8 lane thoroughfare through town. I'm cruising 40 in a 35 (at 2 AM, no cops around) and pass this teenager in a little ricer wannabe of some kind (wasn't really paying attention). I pass them by, and his girl in the passenger side looks at my car (Silver with my brand new 18" black Bullitt wheels, so happy). I actually see her eyes widen a bit as I go by. I get about 4 or 5 car lengths ahead and all of the sudden he jams on the gas and roars past me. He then turns off at the next light. I guess he wanted to show his girl who the cool guy was and wanted to tell his friends how he blew by "one of those new Mustangs". Whatever helps him sleep at night, I guess.

I seem to attract Grand Prixs like flies for some unknown reason......
Akso - day before yesterday driving to work on a local three lane surface road (45 mph limit but every goes at least 55) I pass a silver 300 with some guy driving to work also. I'm going about 5 mph faster and slide by him in my lane.....
About 15 seconds later here this guy comes, now doing about 10mph faster than me in his lane....passes me a bit... gets blocked in, goes to the right lane and starts slaloming through traffic....
Geez.... looks like someone is upset they have sedan and not a coupe - and had a big case of Stang Envy....

Not all ricer's are that bad.... My buddies Civic is running over 750 hp now and he drives it to work some days..... Gotta give some of these guys respect. He loves my car and I respect his. Just a different form of motor head.
