Resonators installed

I just had 12" resonators or glasspacks installed. The shop only charged me $145 parts and labor. The resonators made the sound much cleaner and smoother without taking too much volume away. This may be one of the best exhaust mods.

I'm going to be doing this soon after my suspension is all set to where I want it. Probably go with 12" as well. Right now I run stock manifolds, High Flow H pipe and Stingers in thew rear. At cold start up and certain rpm's, it resonates/drones pretty bad in the car so hopefully this will tame it down a bit.

At the moment, Kooks long tubes with the catted H and the magnoflow catback exhaust

Prior I had the stingers catback exhaust. I will be going back to them with the resonators installed.

The maggy's sounded too quiet, but the stingers had too much spitting and sputtering :0 I'm trying to find a happy medium rigth now. After listening to tom281's car and another youtube video, I felt confident this was what directionI wanted to go.

tom 281's car does sound awesome. I don't know how much you want to tone it down, but have you thought of going with the 12" instead? 18" might cut too much sound out.

My opinion so far about these setups... Its a waste to get a hollow muffler, or one that is raspy, cackly, sputtery, etc and then put the resonators on. Will kill easily over half of the loudness. Atleast with the 18's it does. I still have that crappy rasp. 12's might have made it louder but the rasp would have been worse.

I know mine will get louder over time, but right now the 12" quieted down enough. A lot smoother sounding when accelerating.

It might, but I'll change it again if it does. I kinda got to the point that I feel it may take 2 or 3 more changes to get the sound I want. Plus what i'm doing is going to cost me 300 dollars so I don't feel that's a big loss if I don't like it. I don't get a lotof time to go to car shows and stuff so I did a lot of youtube videos and that's the sound I liked the most at this point.

Your the reason why I went with resonators. You got my wheels spinning on them, but my guy said he could do them for close to the same price it would have cost me to get you to ship yours. So I took care of my mechanic However, if the 18's turn out to be too much, I will hunt you down

i can only post from my experience.

Straight through mufflers = raspiness.

I had an off road x pipe with flowmasters and it droned and trumpeted horribly. Tried the o/r prochamber and that made it way too quiet.

I decided to gut the stock h-pipe (also has the best fit - can't beat factory) with the flowmasters and its the best sound i could have asked for.

There is drone at 1500 rpms under load, but no where near what it was. And there is zero rasp or trumpeting. Its a deep muscle car sound that i haven't heard anyone else duplicate.

I'll get some sound clips when the weather warms up.

O/R and flows is an awesome combo, but from other post and listing to vids that the combo also trumpets.
