Replaced cloth seat covers for Leather!

I recently replaced the cloth seat covers in my 2005 V6 Mustang and swapped them out for the OEM leather seat covers. I had been wanting to do this for some time now and had been looking at possibly getting a set of katzkin leather seat covers since I had not found OEM leather seat covers in tan. As luck would have it Hatchman had posted a set of good used OEM tan leather seat covers out of his 2005 GT Mustang in the for sale section of the forum. I purchased them and installed them myself a few days after I got them. The installation process was quite simple and self explanatory. The only major pain was the hog rings in both front seats but once removed zip ties worked like a charm to attach the front seat covers to the seat foam. I am very impressed with how well the results of the project turned out and how easy it was to change out the seat covers. I have some before and after shots posted below. Oh and kudos to hatchman for the replacement covers!

Never thought of replacing the hog rings with zip ties.

The leather seat covers make world of diffenece in feel and look with a much more upscale perception.

I replaced my cloth seat covers for new take off leather ones from a 2010 Mustang GT that was converted to a Rousch Mustang. Very easy job. I was even able to do this without removing the front seats and deactivating the airbag. I also replaced the hog rings with zipties. Easy stuff to do, just a couple hours time and $295 for the front and rear take off covers and you have minimal investment in something that makes it seem you spent $30,000 + on the car.

I do agree that it does make it look like you spent a lot of money on your car and nothing beats that leather smell when you open the door to the car!
