OK, this is probably a stupid question (or one that someone has answered before - but I did a search and came up empty). I have an IUP shift **** that I would like to install on my non-IUP car. I understand that it unscrews from the shifter, but how is it attached to the boot? Do you remove the **** and boot first, or can you remove/install the **** without removing the boot?

The boot is just placed over the base of the ****. Just pull down on the boot from the base of the **** downward. Then, turn **** counterclockwise
