I guess you could buy one and put CATCHUP on the vanity plates?? ugh there's one out front, awful color. It's the old Focus Sangria Red revived if I'm not mistaken. You can't even tell its metallic from more then 10" away.

lol, that a good idea!

From the pics I've seen on the forum it looks pretty good to me. But' I haven't seen one in person. Is it really that bad?

I guess I could always go for an 07 GT if I thought it looked bad when mine comes in?

The paint code is different for the Candy Apple Red then the Sangria red isn't it? Doesn't that mean it's a different color?

SINBUSTER007, thanks for posting your pics of Redfire and Candy Apple Red.

The two colors look very similar to me. I have two computer screens so I pulled up both pics and looked at them side by side. Redfire is a little darker, Candy Apple Red is a little lighter. But folks out on the street aren't going to distinguish between the two colors.

You know what I think is going to happen? The average guy and gal on the street is going to start hearing about the new Candy Apple Red Mustang and they're going to look at our Redfires and say, "Hey, I love your Candy Apple Red Mustang!".

Same thing with the folks who buy the new 2008 Candy Apple Red Mustangs. People are going to say "Hey, love your Redfire!".

And a few years from now a friend is going to ask you to come along and look at a used Mustang at a car lot with them that's advertised as a "Candy Apple Red Mustang". You're going to get there with your friend and realize, "that's not Candy Apple Red, that's a Redfire!". Of course being a knowledgeable Mustang guy, you'll know that a 2007 has got to be "Redfire" not "Candy Apple Red". And I'll bet the saleman will argue with you and tell you that you don't know what you're talking about!

If we hadn't already bought our 2007 Redfire, and we were looking to buy a 2008 Mustang, we'd definitely go for the Candy Apple Red. It's a beautiful color.

Congrats to all of you new owners of the 2008 Candy Apple Red Mustangs!

Its not a BAD color per-se, but I wouldn't compare it to redfire. Probably the one non-neutral color(black/white/grey) that needed no improvement. Looked great on the SN95's, looked great on the S-197's. Redfire made its way onto the F-150 this year, looks great on that too. I always get a little bitter about Ford changing colors with strange logic though. Such as dumping legend lime, a true shelby color, just as the GT500 comes out. They could of added a true pearl ceramic white and dark amethyst(that with chamois PTAP would be incredible) instead just changing one of the existing staple colors and now keeping two silvers... Again, I don't think its ugly or anything, I had the same resentment when true blue went to sonic.

I got to agree that it doesn't look so good in your pic, but over in the Candy Apple forum, the pics that Den posted make it look pretty good. Even on a cloudy day! Here's a link!

I like them both. I'm glad Ford decided to keep a darker 'red' in the line-up.

Won't fit in Texas unfortunately... Which I find silly after all these years they make us work with only 6 letters... We're all about BIG, but not our license plates...

I found out once that 'Stupid' is available... and have often thought of getting it.

Story on that: This was due to a thread in here somewhere where I was describing how I'd stealth a GT into lookin' like a V6... and someone said 'That's stupid'. And so I asked my cop brother to look that up... and it's available!!

I may still.. Because when my car is done... it'll be STUPID awesome. ^.^

Kevin thought of that one actually, see above...

I was just kidding anyways.......

Houtex, I like that STUPID idea. That way they can see your plate after they've been had. Pretty good!

So does the Candy Apple Red look like a "candy" paint, i.e. does it have depth? Does it look like red tinted clear over a metallic base?
