Recommendations for Floor Mats...

I'd like to get an extra set of floor mats to use in my 'o7 Stang when it arrives in a few weeks. I've had a recommendation for these from CJpPonyParts.com :

I dig the Tribar pony. Any other suggestions?

TriBar Pony cool... just wonder if the pony will look like a black stallion after 6 months of foot traffic/ grime.

I went round and round and got a set of mats from Ford that were HEAVY rubber and had pony's on them and were fit for S197's. With all the muck and ice of my daily driver, it was necessity. They look great. I will try to post some pics if anybody is interested. I think they are about $50 from Ford Parts. I had my dealer throw them in with the car when I got it.

Nice suggestions. I'm sure the Tribar Pony will get dirty over time, however, my Mustang (a GT/CS convertible) will not be my daily driver and I only plan to drive it in nice weather. So, with a little care, hopefully they would look good for a long time. I am also planning to get the tribar pony headrest wraps from Grand Design Mat. They would compliment eachother well.

BTW....the reason I want an extra set of mats is to preserve the originals that come with my GT/CS. However, I do want the replacements to look good.

You could look into these. They are a little larger than the factory ones, fitting better.
Some members somewhere had them and liked them.

I'd like to get nice mats that are custom fit & also have fabric piping around the edges and not the vinyl/plastic edging. Anybody got anything that fits that description and fits great? Thanks.

Vinyl/rubber/plastic for t3h win. They last much longer than the cloth mats. I ordered the OEM Ford all-weather mats as a dealer installed option when I ordered the Stang, so the final price was much lower than buying it from elsewhere.

Depends on whether you're looking for practical or decorative.

For decorative, those look good.

For practical, I'd recommend the WeatherTech mats.

You won't find a better fitting set of mats than the all-weather Ford floormats designed by Ford to work in the Ford Mustang

Better fitting, perhaps. But the WeatherTech mats beat just about every other rubber floor mat out there today for durability and capacity to hold dirt or liquid...in other words, to protect your carpet.

It looks like Ford has changed the design of their all-weather rubber mats. I got mine when I bought my car back in December 2005. My Ford rubber mats are very thick and hold water, etc. very well... but they are just a bit small. They don't completely cover the OEM floormat area.

HOWEVER, I just clicked on that Ford Accessories link above and honestly the current version looks to be a much larger design. I like those alot better than the ones I have.

I have the OE all weather floor mats.

AWESOME. i love them. they fit great, they are MUCH nicer then weathrtechs, which i had in my VW and my family uses in almost all our other cars. the fords hold more, are thicker, made of a better rubber.

just all in all great mats. i would reccomend them to anyone

i agree, they work very well, but i think that the ford OE ones are much nicer. I have had weathertechs in my own vehicle before, and liked them. but i like the OE ones more for the mustang
