So heres what Im pissed about:

1. Unavailability of option 18G (Interior Upgrade Package) on V6
2. Unavailability of 5-spd manual option on V6 until sometime between Jan and June.

So Im wondering if about the same time these two supply problems are ironed out, if by that time there might be a cash back or something on the V6? I know there isnt right now, but what do you guys think. Would a guy that bides his time and waits on these option packages to become available might possibly strike it rich and luck out on a $500 cash back or something by that time, or is that just wishful thinking and there wont be a rebate until next winter?

There is no doubt in my mind that rebates will be available for the '06 Mustang, probably all year round.

I'd also say that '05 rebates are likely when the '06's are coming up.

My guess is that we won't see any rebates for the '05 until late summer. I hope there are rebates this winter, because I plan on ordering my V6 around March. But I wouldn't count on it

There will not be any rebates on the Mustang until the popularity dies down, if there are people willing to pay over sticker for them, Ford is not about to throw money away by giving rebates. Rebates are to help to boost sales and move out last years models, you may see a rebate on the '05 when the '06's start hitting the lots.

And at best it will be a very small one. Don't hold your breath for it.

Well f***. The interior looks like absolute doggie-doo without the IUP (especially the steering wheel), and $1000 is a lot to be forced to pay bc Ford marketing has decided not to offer 5spds for V6 models yet.
I guess I will just wait tho -- rebate or no. Just thought Id get opinions from you guys. Thx.

In another topic, there is mention of a new interior sport package that includes the leather steering wheel and upgraded shifter from the 18G package. This would at least provide a leather steering wheel. I agree that the base steering wheel is probably the worst stock steering wheel I've ever seen.

agree..

if a car sells 2 hours after it gets off a truck, they don't need rebates to push it.

From what someone posted before, it sounds like rebates actually cause your car to depreciate faster (since they're basically lowering the starting price of the vehicle), so a lack of rebates translates into the car holding its worth a bit longer.

Or something like that.
