Well for sales rebates are the easiest thing in the world, it has no effect on us. But the long term effect on a company as a whole is not forward-thinking. This is why the mustang is not starting at 27k(and would still be competitive) and then rebating the heck out of it later.

This is true Kevin from a Company stand piont rebates are bad for profits. The Mustang might be like the Explorer from the early 90's when it first came out it was not rebated at all until the Expedition came out and competitors caught up with the Explorer.

You never know what they will do, but they will hold off on rebates as long as they can. I can say there won't be rebates for ten years but I don't know for sure.

side note my Focus is not Junk Checkout my new headlights

:thrice now:

God forbid anyone buy an American car without 5k worth of rebates.

This is strangely reminiscent of the attitue american car buyers have toward quality too. BMW owners are notorious for harrassing the dealer for as much as half a squeak, but I'll bet my **** they had that oil changed every whatever the heck miles along with every other maintenience issue.

We drive the poo out of a car for years withouht so much as wash and turn it in claiming it was a POS, well yeah...

Im not saying the foci is junk, it is by far the best engineered automobile ford had ever made through 2004. I actually have one exactly like this, only in silver.

I traded our orange one for paint-chip silver with another dealer.

Those seats look nicer than the cloth Mustang seats. Could you do a swap?

Probably no rebates on the Mustang's....at least through the entire '05 calendar year. That would be my guess....

While I am hesitant to stick up for someone who called me a liar, Kev stated nothing worthy of being called a "liar" or a "sleezy salesman" or whatever junk people want to bash him with just because he makes his living taking care of "lying" customers who take the same often unwarranted attitude just because he is a "car salesman". Some people are very ignorant.

Mark Twain once said "The only one that lies more than a car salesman is the customer!"

Kevin120 you're right it wasn't Mark Twain it was either Abe Lincoln or Tottie Fields. But either way it still is true.
