I was told by my dealer that workers at a rail switching station for Ford in kansas city are on strike... yes a link to a site that i think confirms that....... has anyone else heard anything about this.....

And now, bizarre reason #687,229 why we're still awaiting the 2005 Mustang. . .
No, wait - it's ALIENS! BIG, bugeyed aliens from the dark Srotom Lareneg Galaxy (Galaxie?) came in huge space ships and stinked all the new Mustangs up into the straosphere!
They're gonna create a new upper layer in the atmosphere, designed to protect the universe from Earth's harmful effects! B)

It's highly unrealistic to think the cars are going to make it from the factory to the dealers in one week. The process tends to take several weeks if not a month. Patience fellow stang owners, it will pay off soon.
PS: It's to the dealers advantage to hold on to cars as long as possible. The longer it sits with them the more cash back incentives they get from the factory to help the sell the cars. 30 days = 3% incentive for the dealer. They pocket the cash and don't pass the savings on to the buyer. That's how some dealers are able to sell cars at a few 100 bucks over invoice, cuz they are making money off of the car by just having it sit there for a while. Maybe that might happen to a few ponys that got ordered, I hope not though.

The only workers in KC on strike are the guys who take the vehicles off the trains and get them onto trucks. The truckers won't cross the line to get the cars due to union loyalties, so yes, this creates a problem. HOWEVER, dealers have been redirecting their shipments to St. Louis in order to have them trucked from there, since those workers are NOT on strike. This has been going on for a while, and is NOT a reason for mustang delays. Family Friend/Dealer informed me of this 3 weeks ago. My .02.
