1st time I used the little flip thing on the rearview mirror because the guy behind be lights were too bright. Once I did everything was blurred/deformed. I couldnt even consider using it that way, so I flipped back to daytime and made some distance between us.

Anyone else noticed this?

I snivelled about this same thing a few months back. It is like there is a shadow behind the images. I know it is the mirror and not the back glass because I have a vert and the image is bad when the top is down too.

I think they had a Wal Mart Chinese sweat shop make these.

It is from the high vehicle speed causing the light to be blue-shifted. Remember, you will always see the speed of light no matter what your frame-of-reference speed. The problem is that Blue light doesn't focus as well on the human eye. Of course, this all might be a smaller affect than the effect that those Wal Mart Chinese sweat shop workers would have upon it.

I didn't have the flip mechanism on my last car, so I just assumed that's the way these things worked

Is that why I didn't see the blue lights behind me? By the time I got pulled over their were 10 cars, spike strips and 5 news choppers in the air.

Go Figure

Who cares about that stock POS mirror...

Throw it away and get a Gentek auto dimming mirror!

Mine original one was thrown in a dumpster after I got the Gentek - these mirrors are made by LAOTIAN sweatshop workers instead!

Just got in my box with the Gentek mirror. I read the "comments" on the site, and wondered if you faced any challenges while installing? Also what wire taps did you use? Difficulty in removing OEM mirror from windshield? You get the idea -- can you share some help on your installation before I get to the weekend and put in mine?
Thanks

I run with the mirror flipped up in the 'night' position all the time, looks fine to me.
