no, not available from the factory
There are many aftermarket kits available for the outgoing models and I am sure you can get them for the '05's
I think it is a cool mod, I might get it myself

Frank, sequential tailights are set up so the when you activate the turn signal, the innermost tribar lights, then the middle one is added, then the outside one last. The sequence repeats until the turn signal is cancelled.
Some of the 60s Shelby's were set up with these, as were some Mercury Cougars. Currently, they are available in aftermarket kits, as mentioned above.

Being an electrical engineer, I did it for about $5 in parts on my three-lens 1981 taillights. I’ll probably do it to my ’05.

B) Not available for the 05 yet. Here is reply I got back in late July:
John and Donna,
We recently participated in an R&D session with Ford on the '05. One of the more discouraging things we learned about was the electrical system. In the newest version of the car, there is a "smart" junction box which the engineers on the car advise us is something we do not want to modify. What this means to you is that they literally laughed when asked about installing an aftermarket kit for sequential taillights. At this time we are taking them at their word and holding off on this product until we also have our hands on one and can see for ourselves what the deal is.
On that same front, we are going forward on working on some billet and other items that will help dress up some of the areas we felt were a little plain.
Keep in touch and we'll let you know when we are closer on these items.

Ah … an electrical challenge. I’ve never met a set of taillights I couldn’t hack. There’s an advantage to modifying your own car in your own garage. The trick might be to let the system think it’s lighting the normal lights while substituting a second set of sequentially driven sockets in the tail lenses. The trick would be to have all bulbs light upon braking, but sequence only on turn signals. The 1980s were a much simpler time. I’ll have to check out the ’05 when I get it. I have a garage hack in mind no matter how sophisticated the electrical system is. Hey, it just electrons. I guarantee I can do it - but sharing that info may have some legal ramifications.

I definately want to do this mod. I wanted to do it to my 97 GT but never got around to it. If I could do this for $5.00, heck even for $100 to do it myself I would, if I knew how. Since I don't I'd be willing to buy a kit.
