I ordered a Tungsten '06 vert with Red leather, IUP, and 64e's. I fear my build date will soon be announced and i am having doubts about that color. Some pictures seem greyish and plain, while others seem sharp.
I have been muling around with the idea of going to Black, but cant figure out what stripes to put on it, White, Red, Silver or none at all.
Has anyone seen this Tungsten in person, i really want to know which to go with, cause i woul dhate to get tungsten and have it be not metallic enough. I have a silver car now and i hate all that waxing go to waste.

Well, if you like to wax, get black... it looks awesome waxed.. like liquid metal... as far as stripes.. I am weird... I think a very dark grey... like ghost stripes... would be cool... but then black show dirt very well too, and silver doesn't, (as I am sure you know already).
edit: I just re-read that you ordered a Vert... NO stripes. I think that part of what makes the stripes look good is the stripes on the roof... with a vert, those are gone... you have too many things "demanding" attention then... top down, driver, glass, and stripes... cluttered... if ANY stripes on a vert, go with some on the bottom...

With regards to the stripe question: Don't put red stripes on your car unless you get a white or black coupe. I know gray is kinda a neutral color, but I just don't think red looks good on gray. Since your getting a vert, however, I think you should get black stripes so they match the top.
I can't comment personally on the color because I haven't seen it in person, but I'm sure it'll look great.

You know, I had the same problem as you. I was going to order a Tungsten '06 coupe with Red leather but changed my mind for two reason. The red seats are too red for my taste. I would like them if they were two tone, black and red.
I like Tungsten, but I have a silver car already, so I went with Vista Blue instead. Black, I considered; the car will look very nice, but it's a PITA to maintain. I owned a black Porsche coupe for 6 years and don't want to go through all the hassle again.
Good luck!

My 2 cents without having seen the tungsten.
I worked with a guy that went to one of the shows and took pictures (about 20) with a real camera, 35 mm film. The color is truly amazing. Very rich looking. Digital pictures have a tendancy to tone down colors. I can see it when I take pictures of my TR. It makes it look orange sometimes and the TR has no hint of orange in it in real life.
As far as stripes, I would go for no stripes on a vert.

Ordered Tungsten myself, no red interior though, would of if it was 2 toned.
I look at it this way, even after seeing pictures and having doubts:
a) I'm not a 'rich' color person. Had a red car once and never again a bright color
B) Black just gets to dirty, to easily
c) I have a silver metallic car now, love the color, but wanted something slightly different
d) The silver looks good, the mineral grey looks good. Tungsten is in between the two colors so I don't think I can go wrong.

I think a lot of people have the same problem as you. They saw the Mustang show car in "titanium" and wanted it (titanium later became tungsten).
We all have seen the contrasting pictures. The spectacular show pictures, then the dull user pictures. It makes all of us tungsten people nervous.
The reason why I'm sticking with tungsten is because of this statement: "The color of the limited edition Ford GT is tungsten. Ford would not put a dull color on their quarter million dollar flagship."
If all else fails, I'm hoping a few coats of Zaino will help me out.
Google for "tungsten gt limited". You can see lots of pics of the Ford GT in "tungsten silver"...which apparently is the exact same paint code as the Mustang's "tungsten grey".
As for stripes, I'm in love with the infamous show car: tungsten with satin silver racing stripes, 18" fanblades.

Well im hearing alot about this TUngsten and i might just stay with that. My car right now is Silver, but its metallic. I wanted to make sure the metallic nature of Tungsten was there cause like you mentioned, the show pictures have it but the user pictures look like dull grey.
So i would lean towards the Tungsten with Black top. I would leave striped off for now but would look into Silver or Black stripes. And the real question is the interior. I think all black is too boring looking especially on the doors. I could get everything black then order some of those two toned cobra seats. Wonder how much they cost. I would have to get inserts for th edoors too. ANyone tried to do that yet.
