Hmmmm, I remember when I used to get all the dirt on the '05 here, not on Stangnet.

The cutouts.....possibly he did not want the folks at Ford to know where those photos were shot as it could lead to the "offender"

Not that it really makes a difference now...we've seen the car...
Ford usually gets pissy when you blab on something not released.

I knew the Head lamps were assemblies and not just lenses. They will be one piece assemblies bolted to the radiator rails. I didnt think ford would waist time trying to paint the recesses and add the lamp then add a clear cover.

Hey, Judging from the Pictures (Seen through the windshield ) in front of this Bare Stang, it looks like it was taken in the styling studio? Maybe this is for future development? You know that a new cars Replacement/Facelift is already designed by the time a new model hits the showroom floor! Judging from the Mustangs recent facelift programs (94-98 99-04) I'd expect to seee a facelift in 2009 or 2010.

As for the headlights, Yeah, they're gonna be Complete units (Reflector/Housing Assy, Lens, etc.) Mounted to the Radiator/Header panel. It is much easier to assemble the car this way. Like most modern Fords however this Assembly should be able to be opened up (With a little Skill and a Dremmel) so that the inner Black area with the "Gills" can be painted to match the body.

I have learned one thing from ricers  . If you bake the headlamps at 300 for about 10 min. the epoxy or sealant they use to attach the lens loosens up and can be removed. To reassemble just bake again for 10 min and then put them together again.

big question.....is this a sealed beam unit or like the current stang where we can switch out bulbs instead of the whole housing?

I imagine it is like the present. Ford knows people arent goint to be happy if everytime they burn out a bulb they have to replace the whole housing. Not to mention warranty claims. The bumper to bumper and Fords extended warranty cover lights too. So if everytime a bulb burnt out ford would loose badly. Surely they bulb plugs in thru the back just like now.

I still think with the smoked headlight lenses painting those inner surfaces will not look right.

After seeing that on the new C6..i agree...keep them smoked not body colour.

While some colours look alright...some look downright horrible.

Where did the Idea that the 05's headlight Lenses are Smoked Come from? They Look Pretty Clear to me? And I don't think that the same thing applies to the Mustangs lights as the C6's, the mustang would just look like it had Clear lenses over the Light opening. The execution of the C6 lights leaves alot to be desired. The biggest gripe about the C6's lights is that people don't like change! Most people are Griping about the lights because they want pop up units, because the Vette has had them so long most people can't remember that Corvettes had fixed headlights from 53-62.

Nono, I actually like the C6, its just people wanted a different step away.
To me its C5.5... it may be all new underneath, but up top...still looks like a cleaned up C5 (which is not bad in itself)

I think we mean smoked background, not smoked lense.
Check out the 99 mustang headlight assembly and then a 02.
The smoked isn't just the front, its all around...and it makes the light a little bit better.

Seen these?

Interesting shape for that upper speaker cut out. If you wanted to replace it, how difficult would that end up being?
