For those of you who have your orders and know about rail car updates, I warn you, DON'T get your rail info! If you're like me, you end up watching it hundreds of times a day! It updates just about every 30-50 minutes and you're virtually watching your car move from stop to stop across the country. I've been watching my car from South Carolina all the way to New Mexico so far, but it's so addictive I warn against it! It distracts you all day! As of this post, my car is in

You don't know Teri? You call the Ford Vehicle Order Processing Center, ask for an analyst and get your rail car tracking number. Then you track the order on the Union Pacific Web site.

Check mine out Teri - so far still in Kansas holding yard, but pretty soon should break loose again and start updating constantly like Cyoon says:

http://c01.my.uprr.com/pet/PetServlet.jas?...rtopt=unordered

ETA is currently back at 10/21 for railyard in Mira Loma, shouldn't be a few more days after that when it's at Mossy, I figure.

FYI - There seems to be only two routes out of KS to CA, and one of them passes just a few hundred yards away outside of my office window in Tucson!!!! Maybe I'll just lay myself across the tracks and tell them they can just drop my Mustang off right here... Just kidding

Cyoon, if yours had only been a few hours earlier, I could've spotted the train for you! I suspect it will pass through Tucson overnight.

You and me both! :bang: I have been tracking it all day, even using map it to see how far away. My GT has been enroute since 10/5.

This is like watching paint dry.

I'm addicted too. Someone should figure out a way to use the data from the UP site to map out the course using the Google maps. I have both sites up watching it move along. Mine should be in Denver by Friday where it will be loaded onto a truck and sent over to Grand Junction, CO within a few days. Hope to see the new ride next week. I'm sure the dealer will be happy too, I just go hang out by the two V6's they have and act like I'm a sales man.

It's really bad when you know what city its going through next and you keep hitting refresh to update. It gets worse when you can calculate the speed of the train based on distance traveled and time from updates.

It would be awesome if Ford took the time to take this information and integrate it into a customer based website.

Oh, I think I can top that -- how 'bout taking a print screen of each change that I can manage to capture and pasting it into a word doc for posterity?

Makes for a nice geography lesson. Who new Kansas had so many little cities? Turon? Where the heck is that? I know now!

Mine seemed to be off to a slow start, about 30-40 miles per hour, but has picked up a little speed in the last hour or two...

Hey Buzzy, assuming we're on the same train, can I get that word doc when you're all through with it? It is cool how often it updates, and some of these cities dont even show up on google maps, so ive tried mapquest, its a little more thorough, though not as clean as google.

AFChief, when did you come up with Shadowfax? I just noticed that... great name. I'm a huge Tolkien fan. I wish I would have thought of that.

Guys,

Don't use google maps. Yahoo maps is much better for tracking the names of the stops. Most of the stops aren't even towns. They're just names along the way.

The train has been at the same location for the last few hours. Only 27 miles to go. I called the ERL and I am not even in the system any more.

Hmm, I wonder if that means something?

Arrived, but not unloaded, yet. The dealer said that I could pick it up at the train depot tomorrow, which is only 8 miles from home, but I would have to drive it back to the dealership and wait for a PDI and have it detailed.
