Railcar shortage continues..............
Called my dealer today and asked him to find out where my Mustang is.
It was built 28 Feb and scheduled for deilvery (ETA) 11 Mar.

He spoke with the Ford shipping folks and learned that my Mustang is sitting at the rail side in Flat Rock. Ford advised him that there was a railcar shortage due to bad weather and they are not able, at this time, to project a delivery date.

Anyone else getting same excuse for missed ETA??

John

The car I was supposed to take delivery of this week was originally scheduled to come in around the first. The ETA changed to the 15, and it came in on the 14. Based on this, the delivery took an additional 2 weeks. The car was shipped to convoy on the 13th of Feb, so it spent a month in transit.

Mine's been 'shipped by rail' since the 3rd. Am I stuck in this shortage or is it getting near? Does anyone know, any help appreciated.

mine has been sitting in the "shipped to convoy" since the 4th we called the customer service line and asked them about a possible rail car shortage. The reply was that they only knew that there is a hold up on certain material for GTs etc. i assume they ment the IUP etc. At any rate after talking with them they actually moved my ETA dates up even though i have yet to hear the "shipped by rail".

Shadow, do you get the strange feeling like it's not going to be here this weekend? I've got a strange feeling it'll be here next Thursday, I hope I'm wrong, Wed is the day I'm planning on leaving for vacation. Just a bad feeling, I never thought that ordering before Thanksgiving would be cutting it this close to having for my Easter vacation . Maybe it's just that it's been so long that it seems like it's just a dream that'll actually arrive.

i truly understand 05GT dont know what will make me happier at this point actually having my car in my garage or the ending of all this stress I was feeling pretty good about this week until i seen this railcar shortage thread. Like i said the only hope is that Ford says my car should be here this week now would they say that if my car was still sitting there and waiting on a rail who knows...05GT do you know the rail yard your car will show up at my dealer told me one in Jacksonville then it will be shipped convoy to my dealer -=-= rail yard # P5

maybe its stuck at the local mixing lot. Mine was sent rail 3/11 but didn't stay there long but it did wait for a rail car for 8 days. There is another member close to me that sat at the mixing lot for 8 days.

There's one way to take care of that. Find your local mixing lot, get some bolt cutters, a buddy to distract the dogs while you find the car.

Find the car and run like heck.

I passed a huge auto rail yard in East St. Louis IL last week that was loaded with rail car and cars but I was not close enough to see the brand of the cars.

Shadow, I've got bolt cutters... My dealer says P5 too, he says that's all the info they've got. On a side note, FoMoCo cust service is useless. I called tonight, and the last update they have is from Mar 12, the same thing the ERL says. I've gotten no notice of being at a mixing lot, just being told it's on a train. So either that's one slow train (must be a Toyota train ), the train's at a stop, or the system's inaccurate. Next thing you know the train will be stopped because the rail line is out of coal! :bang:
