Quote from insider who glimpsed 2008 Mustang
This quote off Autoblog from an insider who glimpsed the 2008 Mustang during an employee preview:
This would again confirm the Bullitt version, like that was in doubt really. Otherwise, seems like the Stang will get a modest refresh in '08 that "fixes what is wrong with the current car," whatever that means. Does sound rather modest if it only fixes mistakes rather than really moving the car forward.
Other vehicles on display include the Mustang along with the anxiously awaited Bullit version. KRON describes a refreshened Mustang for 2008 that only fixes what is wrong with the current car, including the interior.
I wonder what 08 has in store for me. Hips? Probably not, but I'm at a loss to guess what exterior changes might occur. Maybe a new grille, hood, or new wheel options. Or maybe a more traditional side scallop (as opposed to the current hockey stick)

Interior... maybe they'll fix the shifter and the center console design. I hate having drinks right in line with the stick shift.
This guy in post #24 says they showed the 2010 mustang on webcast

My only complaint with the interior is that the headreads aren't adjustable front-to-back. They tilt a bit too far forward for my taste. Oh, and a glovebox light would be nice.
Let me chime in here for a second
I think autoblog misquoted the original poster, it made it imply as if 2008 will have some kind of refresh to it.
Here is the original text (which has since been taken down from GMI)

Mustang is the overall champ for me. It manages a perfect refresh by fixing only what is wrong, the interior and a squarish rear, and boxy front. It all blends nicely, yet is still a stang. Bullitt was introduced as well. Can't talk engines, sorry.
My guess as to "what's wrong" and the fixes would be:
* updated front and rear facias, revised non-structural body panels (front quarter, hood, trunk, doorskin) and wheels.
* updated interior with better quality materials
* upgraded brakes
* Duratec 35 added as base motor (275hp)
* 4.6 bumped to 325 hp
* 5.4 added at 375 hp
* Suspension better calibrated
* Added options such as Sat Radio, Nav, HIDs.
What we won't see, given that Ford's now relagated to mortaging the farm to stay above water:
* No IRS -- if they cheaped out in flusher times, they certainly not going to do the right thing now. Could be wrong, and they might be forced to step up to the plate by the Challenger/Camaro and dust off the stillborn IRS, but I doubt it.
I think they'll do the '08 as cheaply as they think they can get away with and save bigger things for the '10, which I'm sure will be delayed given Ford's situation and history on these things.
