Question for all of us with Automatic's

It's all about economics. It is a parting line from the molding process.
To build a tool that would have the parting line else ware would be very cost prohibitive. In the picture it almost appears as if there is an intended protrusion. I work with tooling that requires parting line flash or protrusions to not exceed .05 mm. This is much more than that. It looks intentional.

I agree that the line stinks, but with that said where can I get the kit to upgrade my shifter to the one shown in this picture. I have the standard black. I've seen just the shifter, but I like the accent ring you have around the case also.

I'm pretty sure it is high performance engineering at its finest, yet you folks think it is a defect or problem with quality issues
I mean, without the line, your hand might slip off the T when going from first to second manually - it adds friction
And I hear it makes the car go faster too

Does your shift handle have a line going from left to right, right on the top of the handle? Doesn't this look like it should of been sanded before it had the silver put on it? Looks like a mold mark? What gives?

Are you kidding? Is that bothering you? Jeez, people are having tranny problems, axle problems, and gas tank problems, and a small seem in the shifter bothers you?
Haha. Sorry, I tohught it was funny.....ok I'll go away now.

It's cheap, my $16,000.00 Honda civic, had no seams like the one on my shift handle. I was astonished at how much better the interior fit and finish was in my car that cost only 1/2 of what my Mustang cost. I kinda got flogged on here when I mentioned I was dissapointed in the interior back when I first bought the car. I love my car, but I call em like I see em, the interior fit and finish leaves a bit to be desired.

Or get a manual and save about $1,000.![Smile](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I believe that's a pre-production picture and the chrome peice didn't make production.
