question about front seat side belt straps

hmm.. My 07 only has on on the drivers side and my father in laws 08 has none. Some cars have em on both front seats, while others don't have am at all. why???? these are the straps that snap on near the bottom sides of the front seats to hold the seat belts up close the seats....

yes, you are correct the 07 only has one of those little straps on the drivers side seat. In Fords infinite wisdom, or maybe I should say frugality (is that a word?), that is what they decided to do The 08 model uses a different system which extends from the rear for both the front seat passenger and the driver.

I find it pretty much useless actually. I have an '07 and prefer not to use that little strap.
I do wish there was a better way of keeping the seatbelt where it is supposed to be on your shoulder.

On the 05 there is one on both drivers and passenger seats. If only they used a stronger magnet these things would actually be useful. However they didn't so I do find them very useless.

On my 06 there are two straps and instead of magnets they have snaps...

On my 08 even though it has the extender, it still sort of chokes my neck because it's too high. I wish you can lower the extender so it doesn't cut into your neck..

My Explorer has a thing that adjusts up and down to fix that. It's plastic, probably costs $5. It's silly that Ford goes to the trouble and expense of designing all new parts (multiple times) that don't even work right instead of just pulling something out of the parts bin and using it on other cars.
