Many of you are much more informed on "show" parts than I am, so I'm looking for some input. I'm thinking about replacing the stock black plastic radiator cover with something a little more eyecatching. What polished versions are on the market, and where are the best places to order them? Is there anything to be careful about (size, fitment, quality, etc.)? TIA...

Oh yea... pics of yours would be nice too!

p.s. I'm not interested in an airbrushed piece right now, just a good quality polished unit that is reasonably priced.

p.p.s. I did do a search, but didn't find the info I'm looking for.

Hey Don, I too am looking into adding the radiator cover. I am really liking the brushed aluminum look to the polished. I just recently got the CJ Pony Parts catalog. In there they were selling these pieces. Click on the links below, and you'll see several different makes. I don't really know the difference between them all, other than one is made my MAC. Hope these help.

Polished Radiator Cover, more expensive unit

Brushed Radiator cover

Polished Cover, lower priced make

Brushed cover, lower priced make

Again, I do not know who makes the lower priced ones. I really don't know what the real difference would be in quality, as both are aluminum pieces. I do wish that the pictures were better. Good luck with your search.

I was going to put one of these on my self, but the price is pretty high. The two lower priced ones don't actully replace the cover, they just cover to upper half (side closet to the engine). Im going to pull mine off and paint it body color, along with some other under engine stuff. This way I can incorporate my side stripe design into the paint on the cover. I figure this will only cost me two cans of paint, including the clearcoat.

I don't know exactly how "purdy" it is, but I have the Steeda cover on mine. Looks to be the same thing as posted in some of the other links

I offer both the Mac Products and Steeda radiator covers online in my webstore if you are interested. I have the Mac in stock as well as the Steeda in a brushed finish.

Also, check out the Steeda Fuse box covers to add a little more bling under the hood.

Just a quick question for those who bought the Steeda radiator cover. When installed, doest it still let you reach the headlights or are you going to have to remove it each time you have to change ont of the headlight bulb ?

Don:

I have the UPR cover and it replaces the factory cover. It fits perfect and actually tightens things up. It BOLTS on.....it doesn't even use those stupid clips.

I got it for $180 back in december. I used their online 20% off coupon code. I think it retails for $219?

I have the UPR Polished cover and it looks great. Much better then stock, especially if you are showing the car in any car shows.
