Well I just called the ERL and I heard the following message:

"As of 8/3/2006 your unit is scheduled to be built the week of August 21st."

Wow, that seems like things are moving fast! How do I find out my VIN? Does the ERL tell me that or do I need to talk to my dealer?

Good news Mr. Latte. I guess I should check on my order. I figured it would be another couple weeks until I had a scheduled week but now that you have one I am excited and need to check mine since I ordered 4 days before you!!!!

What dealer did you order through?

I -think- you have to get the VIN from your dealer. I'm not positive about that, but it seems like that's what I read. Congrats, you may be one of these lucky people that gets yours in 6 weeks!

I ordered through Parr in Bremerton. He did say it would take 8-10 weeks so we'll see how long it actually takes and it does need to be transported across the country. If it takes 10-14 days to CA I'm sure it takes that or longer to get to WA.

Good luck on yours - you'll have to call and get some dates!

I went through Titus-Will in Tacoma. Had good luck with them on our F-150 (also Torch Red - keep saying we need to stop buying red cars but keep on doing it )

I have a build week of August 14th!!!!!! Wow! That is next week!!! They say I should have an ETA by the end of this week. I really need to start clearing out my garage.....

Not bad 3 weeks from order to build! Like you say, it will probably take a while to ship it out here

Hey, that's fast! Did you get your VIN? I need to call my dealer and see if he can get mine. Not sure how soon the VIN is available.

I just found out I've got an ETA the week of 9/9/2006! Since that's a Saturday, how do they figure the week?

And as an interesting aside, my clutch went out on my 17-year-old car last night!

Interesting MrLatte.....

I now have an updated ERL. It states:
As of 8/16/2006 your vehicle has been released by the foreign assembly plant with an ETA week of 8/24/2006.

What the heck is "foreign assembly plant"? Can anyone help me with this?

Is there a way to find out the exact date it was born?

And my ETA has gone from 8/22, to 8/29, to 8/24... Bounces around alot...

Closer all the time!!!

Oh, BTW, my clutch went out on my 20 year old car last month... :-)

I believe that's just the plant at Flat Rock where all the Mustangs are built. It was a joint Mazda plant (AAI?) so it's considered foreign.

Yeah, I read somewhere that "foreign" just means it's not in Dearborn.

Congrats MrLatte!!!!

Mine was shipped last Thursday, the 17th and is currently just west of Whitefish Montana on its way. It was scheduled to arrive in Kent, WA tomorrow (Friday the 25th) but it sat in Minot for 12 hours yesterday which delayed it a little I think. It may still arrive in Kent tomorrow afternoon/evening but not sure if the trucks will move it over the weekend to the dealer or not... I can't pick it up Monday so likely it will be Tuesday!!!

It is kind of fun tracking the railcar across the country - like I don't have anything else to do

So that is the good news... The bad news is that they are applying a topcoat of asphalt on our road starting Friday for the next 10 days!!!! No way am I driving it on that for a few days after they lay it. I had a bad experience with tar in the first few hundred miles of my last new car. Lets just say it took lots of tar remover.

Hopefully they'll do our road tomorrow so it will be good to go by Tuesday.....

Anyways.. Congrats to you, its getting closer!!!

MrLatte. Did you ever get a front license plate bracket? If so, what kind did you get?

No front license plate bracket. The plate and frame are pretty much just bolted directly to the front bumper.

How do I know if I have the wheel locks? They're listed on the sticker. What are they? What do they look like? Am I supposed to have a key?
