Lightbulb PSA: Change yer e-brake cables

I had no idea how badly these things had stretched out over the years. Constant usage since I have a stick. The e-brake was weak and wouldn't hold the car in a slight incline, and didn't really seem like it would stop the car. Handle was also very sloppy as well. These bad actors fixed it right up! See my install photos below. The bad part was to remove the rear LCA flag nuts in order to remove the cable from the way it was routed. All in all this was a needed repair and I'm glad I did it. Next week will be all four brake hoses and pads. Last time I did the brakes was in 2009.

Crappy old stretched out cables

Updated cables now have heat shield material for the drivers side

Cable routed through rear LCA. That sucks.

Had to pull LCA flag bolts to change out ebrake cables. Be sure to support the diff when you do this (that's why the jack is needed)

Being that I always have the e-brake on when parked, it's more than likely my cables will also require being replaced sooner than later now that my "06" GT is now 16 years old, despite its low 32k mileage..
I also noticed you have a QuickJack from the images posted and was curious how well you like it and which model it is? I've been considering these for quite some time and would be very interested in your opinions and feedback.. Meanwhile, also thanks for sharing your very valuable info regarding the e-brake cables.
