The question is too long at the top so, here it is again....

How many weeks did it take from the time you ordered your new Mustang to the time you took it home?

I'm on week 6 and still do not have a production date on my Satin Silver 2005 GT Premium w/IUP and am worried that it might not happen before the retool and the end of July. Panic is beginning to set in! I really want the 05 because my other Mustang is a 65. 40 years apart, NOT 41 years apart.

24 Jan 2005 Monday...

 

Called my Dealer yesterday. He told me that they had 17 orders on the books for 05 Mustangs. Any new requests for one will now be an 2006 model. I am number 9 on the list of 17 for the 05's. My salesperson told me, unless the Flat Rock plant burns down, I'll get my 05 Stang. He also called Roush on my behalf to guarantee me a slot for the conversion.

Hopefully mine will be built early to mid June and I'll take delivery prior to the 4th of July weekend.

I dont see how he can garuntee you yours will be built. Not trying to give you a hard time but dont be disappointed if he cant get it for you in 05. Everyone is being garunteed when they order and then let down months later. Hopefully yours will come in. I ordered a week before you and still waiting c/u as well Same color too!

 

6 weeks to the exact day from night of order to night of delivery. Needless to say I wasn't expecting it that fast, but was very happy.

 

I ordered mine 12/30/04 and took delivery 5/6/05

 

Well I'm still C/U after about 3 months. This is pretty ridicules. My dealer told me my order was going to be pulled the week of 5/16/05. What the heck does that mean. The ERL told me yesterday still C/U. It is taking forever to get this stinkin car. :bang:

 

Amazing, after posting my last message (see above) my salesman called and he told me that my car should be "rolling off the assembly line the week of 5/16/05 and he will call me back on Friday with more info''! That surprised me.

 

I took delivery less than 6 weeks after ordering. No one was more pleasantly surprised at me! I didn't make a fuss about it because I didn't want to get anyone disappointed or angry by the fact that I enjoyed such a quick turnaround. I still feel a little guilty about it. However, I was prepared to wait 4 months for a build date, so I was a very patient customer. When I learned it was going to be built way sooner than I expected, I discreetly let the board know without gloating. It was hard, because I was so darn excited, but I didn't want to gloat over it! I still hope that those that ordered before me will get their orders filled expeditiously.

 

It took me 6 months to the day May 20, 2004 to November 20, 2004
I almost gave up around August and bought a 2001 F-150 Harley

 

I ordered 159 days ago. It's on a truck heading in my direction now!

 

Ordered November 3rd, delivered December 24th. About 7 weeks.
