Well, I couldn't get ahold of anyone with the exact figure, but the guy that I did speak with will have them after the 1st of the year, but the preliminary number is a bit over 42,000!! BTW, we were only committed to making just under 40,000 units to Ford. Plus, according to the customer satisfaction surveys and whatever else they use to measure it with, our quality is 35% better than the out-going car!!! Happy Holidays!!!

B) There was an article earlier stating a plan of 44,000 by end of year.

It's hard to believe that there are 40,000 new Stangs out in the wild and I've personally only seen 3.....

I guess this country is getting bigger by the minute!

You are right about that. I have only seen 3 outside of the dealership and all were parked, one was a v6. Until yesterday that is. Saw my first mustang on the road. A black V6 with tacky white side decals.

While I may not be seeing them a lot, less and less people are cranking their neck to see mine.

On a funny note. Shopping in severe rain and wind yesterday, some dude followed me to the end of the lot, and got soaked, just to hear me start my new 05! I told him he must be as crazy as me.

As of 12/23/04 the official Ford production numbers are 40,484. Because of the date on the release it would indicate that is year end numbers.

There are 330,000,000 people in the US. Don't know about Canada, and I'm not in the mood to look it up. Ill be generous and say between the two countries, there are 100,000,000 drivers. Its actually probably more like 150-175.

So 100000000/40000 = 25,000. One out of every 25,000 people has this car. So, congrats, you've seen the equivalent of 75,000 people since the car came out.

If production started Sept 7 (according to BON) then, that's 98 days Sept 7 to Dec 17 - no weekends and two days off for Thanksgiving. That's 413.10204 per day. Of course, if the days worked were actually different then.... . Still, I'm like everyone else. I've only seen 3 others on the street....and less head turning in parking lots etc. If you have no life and realy want to check out the number on the street - cruise mall parking lots today - how many other new Mustangs will you see?
Merry Christmas everyone.

I thought 40k was a good amount until I thought of the population....I arranged a meetup of 5 of us from here on the site a week ago to do some dyno runs...Those 4 are still the only other '05's I've seen on the street. I've had mine since 10/23 and have yet to pass another one on the road....Be nice when all the guys waiting on theirs from ford actually receive them and represent!!!!! Happy holidays every1.......

I have seen about 30 todate, scense August. As far as population, I not do think we have 300 just yet, but there are over 30 in Californa, right. I believe Canada has close to 40 Million. How about it guys, That should make it about 175-200 M drivers. Anyone with real numbers here?

I live in an Upstate NY and the County has a population of about 750,000. Not seen one on the road yet. I know of one other member who lives by me but none on the raods yet. If you think of the dealers in this area and figure they each have gotten 5-10 so far that's less then 100 cars. It will take time but thats OK with me!
