I got mine on 10/24 and the sticker on the door says 9/04 ... is it possible to determine the actual production number?????

So your build date is September 2004....but I'm not sure how to read the VIN #, but the last few digits should give you the production #. I'm just not sure how many of those last digits.....

Remember in the above example in positions 12-17, if looking at a Mustang, the car would be number 28,703, not 128,703. I think a 1 is in position 12 on all the 05 Mustangs.

Well until they get past the 100,000 car mark, then it will be a 2.

Also, they aren't built in the exact order. They are assigned in order, but they aren't built that way. They will be close, but its possible for car 28,500 to be built before car 28,000.
