Great shots...

I would love to see a picture down final trim, seeing all the Mustangs being put together.

Hey!! I know those guys!!! And thats my area!!! Thank God I didn't shoot those pics!!!! Those are removeable covers and the Mustangs are blue, the mazdas' are black and gray. They cover the fenders, quarters, and doorsills to protect the paint. Did anyone notice the doors? I was amazed also, we didn't remove the doors at my old plant. I guess they do it allover here because everyone else seems to think its normal to have a doorline to build them up on. B)
There was an article that said AAI was unique for a FoMoCo assembly plant in that the doors were removed to run down the line and then put back on at the end of the line.

I don't remember exactly what the reason things are done this way at AAI other than to save space.

I think it is because the mustang has wider doors and they couldn't open them at some places on the line because of room

It is a great idea,

it actually isn't exclusive to AAI, a lot of car companies have adopted this practice. It is used on the Magnum and 300 as well.

It makes it easier to put the glass/power window goodies in the doors, in addition to the door panels.

It also makes it a lot less unobtrusive to get into the interior of the car. Imagine how much easier it is to put in the dash, carpet and seats without doors in the way.

Whats with the unpainted area in the middle of the underside of the hood, are they not gonna paint that or it gonna be covered by something?

I think Brad has a whole stash of great pics hidden. He's releasing them to us slowly and steadily till his Detroit bash; it's like an IV Drip of Mustang Information to keep us alive and hopefully each day!

It will be covered by an underhood fire-retardent cover, but its still odd that they wouldn't pain the whole underside.

The unit number is 100051; it's an early build.
I'm assuming that's the serial number of the VIN.
If so, anybody on here, or one of the other boards have this VIN assigned to their pre-order?
Or is it too low and this is one deisgnated to be one of the two each dealer gets.

I love seeing coilovers in the front of a production Mustang.

I don't hold anything back. Every photo I have of a 2005 Mustang is posted somewhere on this site, except those old spy photos.
