It simply will not play the new ColdPLay CD without a loud "tick-tick" every nine seconds.

When I put in the CD, it says "D1 F1".

I thought this was an error code, apparently this is what it says when the Shaker thinks it is an MP3 disc?

I have tried it on the Shaker 500 in another Mustang. Same thing happens and the delaer is at a loss to figure it out.

Anyone else have this experience?

Yep. Me too...plays OK, no skipping, but a clicking noise. Related to the copy protection on the CD?

Exactly! It plays but for that clicking noise! Does you deck also say "D1 F1"? Nobody can tell me why the Shaker 500 head unit thinks the CD is an MP3 disc. :bang:

Maybe it has digital information on it as well (like PC stuff)

Have you put the CD in a PC and see if there's non-audio files on it?

Some "enhanced" CDs can cause certain players to misbehave. Check the label on the disc.

Yup. Checked to see if it is enhanced or has bonus PC material. These are often multi-session CD's which some players find, um, unpleasant.

Try ripping just the songs and burning an audio CD copy. If that clears it up, I suspect you will have your answer.
