Problem: map light wob't go off

This morning I went to crank the car to warm it up before heading to work. Went back inside a few minutes came back out, and noticed the map lights were still on. I turned the car off' and back on. I tried opening and shutting the door again. Then I tried getting out and locking/unlocking the car. The lights stayed on the whole time. I was running late for work at this point, so i disconnected the battery. And left the car at home.

It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could give me an idea of what to do to fix it when I get home.

Thanks for the help.

If you used the buttons to turn the lights on I think they would stay turned on , might try turning them off using the buttons ...

OK funny story.

I have discovered that the button that allows you to adjust the brightness of you dash light got pushed all the way to the top. I did not know that when pushed all the way to the top it turned both map lights on.

I hate it when I do something stupid and then tell everyone about it before figuring it out. I hope I made someone laugh.

Thanks for the help 05YellowGT.

My wife has done that same thing probably 4 times in the last 2 years and each time she has to come get me or call me. She always forgets what it took the last time to get the lights off.

My son did that and couldn't figure it out for weeks. The car kills the power after I think ten minutes if you leave something on unintentionally. It kills the power if you leave the trunk or door open or if you happen to leave the map lights on .

Had this happen to me before. My alarm kept signaling that my passenger door was open(map lights were on) and would go off ever few minutes. Ended up with the same conclusion.
