Problem with Driver Door Lock

I have an intermittent problem with the driver side door lock. Occasionally, you can’t unlock it with the key or the fob. If you enter through the passenger door and open the door with the handle then it will lock and unlock Ok the next time. The dealer re-programmed the fob but the problem is still ongoing. Anyone else have this problem or know the solution?

Do you have aftermarket door lock pins? I had to go back to stock on mine because of the opposite problem on the passenger side. The door screw sat too low and the darned thing couldn't stay locked. I figure that there could be a possibility of yours being screwed down too low?

No, I have stock door lock pins. The car is back in the shop today for the 3rd time. Hopefully, they will be able to figure it out.

i'm having exactly the same problem!
Driver side lock jams sometimes, i can hear a little squeek while unlocking the car, and the lock lever at the driver side doesn't come up all the way..
it's about 1.5mm lower than usual
opening the door from the inside raises the lock lever and opens the door just fine..

Any luck with this issue?

OK, this is weird. My wife is having the exact same problem with her 2002 Lincoln LS. Did Ford re-use the same parts in the Mustang?

Problem Fixed

Eventually, my dealer replaced the lock actuator and it has been working fine since then.
