Prices seem to have gone up alot since 05...

When I bought my 05 Satin Silver GT with AUTO, IUP, BULLITS and the Red Interior Accent package with the shaker 1000 the total price was like 26K.

I was just fooling around at forddirect and building a new 07. I built the exact car I have and it was $29700. WITHOUT THE SHAKER 1000?

I remember when the 05's first came out the base price for a premium started at 24,600. Now the base price for a premium starts at $27K

I'm sure glad I bought the 05 when I did.

Just an observation really.

I think the average is about a 10% increase per year.

In 2004, I was going to buy an 04 GT in Orange. I was getting it for 22,000. I paid $21,335 for my 05 V6, and the same car now is 23k and change......
The only ones who have NOT seemed to increase are the base models- When My car came off the truck, the base v6s were around 19, and That was the sticker for the one I bought last week.

I think it was the GT Deluxe that started at about $25k.

The Ford site is deceiving... they are including the destination charge in their "Base Price" calculation on the model selection screen of their Build & Price application. Technically, destination charge should not be part of the Base MSRP of the vehicle.

It looks like the GT Premium cost has gone up $750 (mine was $25,705, for 2007 it's $26,455). That's a pretty typical base price increase for a 2 model year time lapse.

Here's my window sticker (2005 GT Premium) for reference.

Interesting.

I was just going over F-150's prices and base F-150 SuperCab 4x4 is now about $2,000 cheaper than it was last year.

Steel and other material prices have been going through the roof. That cost gets passed to the customer.

Yep... F150, Explorer, and Expedition base prices are being reduced drastically, to reflect reduced demand for those vehicles. Ford is getting killed on residual value on these vehicles... lowering the base prices closer to the actual value of the vehicle should help.

The site time line says the 05 cost 26,125+625 dc. Ford site says 07 cost 26,455+725 dc. thats 425 more plus 100 for the 355 gear. Some options went up a bit too.

They must be basing their timeline on whatever the prices were at the end of the model year. 2005s produced earlier in the model year were cheaper than 26,125 (mine was 25705 + 625 dest).

24375 was for a Deluxe, Premium was 25,705

Did you buy it A-plan? That's is the only way got a low purchase price like above but, we are talking MSRP right? An O5 was right around 29350 for the options you state including transportation.

For some reason, the window sticker on my '05 Premium GT showed 26,125.

I added IUP for 450 and alarm for 255, plus the 625 destination charge brought my MSRP to 27,455.

I ordered in Dec '04 and took delivery in Mar '05.

There was most likely a base price increase during that time.

I was paying $2.799 last July for a gallon of gas. The price of oil has driven everything through the roof imo~

When I was going to order in 2005, the price with options was 26,600. I wish I would have gotten it then, but financial problems from college delayed the purchase. Now pricing the car that I am going to get/order is around 29,000. The delay will cost a couple thousand.
