Price quote for 2005 GT convertible
Hi everyone,
I want to see if I can get your advice. I've never owned a Mustang, but I've found one near me that I'm interested in, and want to see if you think it sounds like a good deal.
It's a red, 2005 GT convertible that appears to be perfect (I'm having an inspection done to confirm), and has less than 16,000 miles. The dealer who's selling it is asking for $19,995, which sounds like a lot, but maybe it's not considering the mileage and the fact that this is a premium version with leather and Shaker 500. It's a manual trans, by the way.
Thanks in advance.

Ask for the dealer service history. Look for rearend, clutch pack, fuel sending unit, vinyl top problems, fuel pump and fuel filler neck.
no matter how perfect it is its still a almost 6 year old car. It doesnt have a warranty. Ask for a carfax.
offer $18,000

Thanks.
I have the CarFax and it looks good. But like I said, I'm having an inspection done to check for the sorts of things you mentioned. I originally told them I'd consider $17,000. I think your recommendation of 18 sounds good if the car checks out.
The dealer wants to sell me a warranty for $1,500. That sounds like a rip-off to me.

makes sure the warranty is not linked to the original sale date. also make sure the warranty have doesnt have a deductible.
little story. I lemon law backed my car a few years ago. I check the carfax 1 year after I sold it back and carfax showed a clear history.
