Price Level 620 - Lower Invoice Costs!
As I mentioned in the other 620 Price List topic, I ran my Price Level 615 prices for my options against the 620 level. EVERY one was lower on the new price list!!!!
The invoice price on the car I ordered is actually down $300. :angry:
I know once we have ordered, we are protected agains price increases. What happens if the MSRP is about the same, but the Invoice prices go down? Rebate for the dealer and we are left hanging? :bang:
I e-mailed my salesperson and have my fingers crossed.

Back at the beginning of June, I had Ed (ISELLFORD) provide me with both Invoice and MSRP for my car and options.
I was comparing his price out to the new Price List (620) and there appeared to be decreases for each option. Perhaps Ed was not supplying Invoice plus Holdback and I'm comparing apples to oranges.

Not sure if it applies to the Mustang or not, but Ford and GM are embracing "value pricing" for 2006.
The idea is that if they lower the MSRP (closer to the actual transaction price), they (in theory) won't have to place so many incentives on the hood.
I'd be surprised if the "value pricing" applied to the Mustang as well, but apparently it looks like it just may be.
As far as price protection for orders already in the system, I would assume that you'd be locked in at whatever the prices were at the time of order (just like you would be if the prices had gone up), but I can't confirm that.

OK, I sharpened the pencil and found out where most of the $300 difference was for my car. Ed had included an "FDAF Assessment" for $300 which I missed.
However, all my options ARE a little cheaper. Here's a couple of examples:
615 620
Auto Trans (44L) $886 $866
Leather Seats(J) $619 $605
Soooo, my actual Invoice price when down $48 between 615 and 620. But the MSRP only reflects the $20 extra for shipping. I wanted to point this out to the '06 folks.
And my salesperson said I will probably get the difference when the car arrives. I think I found somebody up there with Ed (in fact, both of them have the same 1st name
)
