I have a singed contract with a price and it clearly states on the back that if the price changes before delivery that they can change the cash delivered price to customer.

Anyone out there with one on order my want to look at the back of your contract.

Boy does this stink, I ordered the car and got a 11 priority , got put on hold for the IUP now I will pay more because they didn't have the parts to build my car.

Like I said before it always seems to be something. First you tell your customers that they have a shortage on parts for IUP so production is delayed and now this, what's next? I was actually waiting to order until they had the IUP thing straight now I have to pay an increase in price, I am not surpised. :bang:

I just came back from the Ford Dealership, according to the finance manager once you have put your confirmed order in the price is set. So I told the dealership than rather wait for the order to be placed in January, 2005 to put the order in on Monday, 15 November 2004. All it means is that I will get the new stang sooner than I was planning too without a price increase. But on second thought with the IUP's being back ordered it might be awhile before the stang arrives but at least the price will be set.

I checked with the sales manager as well ...as long as you have confirmation on your order your price is set .I did ask about the price increase because the back of my contract states the same that it could be passed on .but with a confirmation factory order they said that ford will re-bait back the cost to them .So anyone that wants a mustang put your order in now just incase...I know I wanted to buy in spring but getting 300 over invoice I couldn't lose. Hmmm Ok, I will most likely be ordering my Mustang tomorrow, what exactly should I take with me and what should I comeback with? And please be specific when explaining this to me, this will be my first "special order" so I need to know how to protect myself.

I will need to get with my sales guy about the price increase and my order. It seems to me with the way that these things are moving off the lot some of the less than forthright dealers will enforce the increase clause (sp) on the back.

Maybe they are cranking up the price of the IUP to get the percentage back down to 50%.....and save some VP's job?

Naah, that would be silly.

Price of steel is through the roof. That is amongst many of the factors driving up costs.

The only difference they listed was the addition of the 18R package.

Get the actual selling price, not just the fact that it is x-plan, in writing and signed.

This is just a normal, mid model price increase. It happens multiple times every year on all of our vehicles. It's pre-planned and only the first of a few this year.

Bummer for me, as I won't be ordering until December or January (depending on what I hear about the 18" wheels, which have been rumored to available in January.

My guess is that ford took into account the high cost of commodity futures right now (steel/aluminum/oil etc) and simply adjusted there cost for the sharp increase of these commodities in the last 3 months...i would be interested to know if this is gonna be a across the board prise increase of all ford models,or just the mustang. If its across all models, then my above statements would seem to be fact. While if its just the mustang, then i would assume the increase is because they have a hot model on there hands. My guess is the former.

What king of price increase does Ford "typically" have from model year to model year? In this case, 05 vs 06. If it is about 1K for the base GT Deluxe, I can live with that. (somewhat)

Thanks

OK I'm planning on pre-ordering today, but I have a quick question. I plan on getting a loan through my Credit Union, should I get the loan approved before ordering or can I do that after ordering?
