Preventing the theft of a Mustang
From the Flint Journal...
Tony Young, 35, made the news in Jan. in Flint, MI when he tried to stop the theft of his Mustang ("my pride and joy") by grabbing the spoiler and hanging on for 20 min. as the thief drove through Flint and on 2 interstate highways at speeds up to 80 mph, trying to shake him off. Young managed to call 911 on his cell phone and describe his route until police could join the chase, which ended when the driver fled on foot and was captured.
Maybe I should reconsider my spoiler delet option, I didn't realize it was an anti-theft device. May be able to get an insurance brake..........

Sorry, but even skiing, this sounds fishy.
It seems like the drag/air pressure at 80mph would be too great to let someone hang on...let alone with one hand while dialing a cell phone. I mean it's not like the spolier has a padded grip...

Folks I'm sorry but this story is A) Kinda old although it appears to be news to some people here & B) TRUE!! I don't know how much more proof you need.

This is not an attack on you, but I still say
Like stated above, there is no way this guy held on and used his phone at the same time. Not to mention using on and off ramps, highway, and secondary streets? Gee, he was sure lucky he didn't hit one bare spot!
I also wondered how he hung on with just one hand, but the article says he was on the trunk for most of the way, then lost the phone when he had to use both hands when he was "skiing".
Crazy thing to do. He could have simply called 911 from the street and let the cops catch the guy.

It is a true story, as old as it is, it is still a true story. It was all over the news months ago.
Edit: Forgot to mention the guy was in the hospital for frost bite on his face, hands and toes. The reason he held on so long was because after several minutes his fingers could not open. He was basically frozen to the spoiler on going for the ride of his life.
