The Old Post was pretty popular and informative. But, it didn't distinguish V6/GT and apparantly didn't go high enough. I was expecting some aggresive driving, low mileage entries. Sounds like break in period makes a difference

Please post any unusual mods (gearing, tunes, CAI) or driving habits (like mostly highway or city, etc.).

14-16 MPG here...... 6500km and still waiting for milage to improve, LOL. I don't even have a lead foot.

 

There is a pretty wide spread in the old poll. It seems some of us are getting poor gas mileage with or without stepping on it. Some seem to be getting great mileage regardless how they drive. Dan you and I are in the former category.

 

Looks like a couple more low mileage voter came in. Are you a leadfoot, or having lower than expected mileage?

How high would gas have to go for anyone to cancel their order? $7.00/gallon might make me think about it, but I think I'm to stubborn not to get it regardless of gas prices.

I average 19.3mpg on a daily basis... and got 22.7mpg on an 300 mile round trip recently.
I presently have 14000+ miles on my baby since Nov. 7th 2004 when I got her home with 2.3 miles on her.
I burn 93 octane fuel since installing the Steeda CAI and Predator tune, I'm very happy with the mileage thus far.

I'm not easy on the gas either. :drive:

 

I have right at 560 miles on mine. I was averaging about 19.6 mpg combined. One the way home (220 mile trip through lots of hills/small mountains), I got 23.6 mpg. Not bad at all for not even been broken in yet.

 

I'm only getting 14.0 avg., but I only have 210 miles on her, so I expect the mpg. to improve as I get 1,000 miles on or so.

 

There is hope for the low MPG folks. Got over 19 MPG on the Turnpike today. Which wouldn't be a big deal, except I was not driving to get high MPG, if you catch my drift. I've already got 750 miles on the odometer, so maybe the MPG does get better with miles. I'll try to baby it riding to work this week and see if I can break 20+.

BTW, the gist of this thread started out as a way to get people to confess quietly in open. I thought the low mileage I was getting was a direct result of too much enjoyment of the new power. I was curious to see how much others were enjoying their rides or how much restraint they had.

Please keep up the posts and votes it's gotten interesting....

 

Sharkstang, The computer gives an average MPG if you press info a few times. I thought this was standard, but it may be an IUP thing.

The easiest way to check without this feature is to zero the trip odometer when you fill up. The next fill up, stop at the same point and divide miles by the gallons shown on the pump. You can zero out the odometer and do it all over again.

Please post up if you do this.

Here's the way I do it:

Set trip odometer to 0. Fill tank all the way up. Next time you need gas, take the miles on the trip odometer divided by how many gallons it took to fill it all the way up again.

On the trip home when I got 23+, I averaged around 85 mph and hit 110 mph once and 135 mph once during that trip (perfect conditions, I could see for MILES and I couldn't resist!), so I DEFINITELY wouldn't say I was driving it for economy...

I did notice on the interstate that I got about 1 mpg better economy with the cruise set at 80 than I did with it set at 85. About what I would expect, actually.
