Hey, All.

This is probably a really stupid question, but I'm sure you're used to me asking them, by now.

In my, so far, futile quest to find a reasonable deal on an 05 on a little hunk of rock in the pacific, I've started wondering if it would be at all possible to:

1) Order from fair, reasonable Dealer A in the mainland;
2) Have Ford delivery my newly built baby to more expensive island Dealer B;
3) Pay Dealer A for the car;
4) Pay Dealer B Doc and Prep Fees for receiving and holding the car for pickup.

Is this even feasible? Assuming it is and both Dealer A and Dealer B agree to it, would I still get blasted by paying taxes in 2 states?

You can tell I'm reaching here, and if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

Thanks for listening/reading!

It is definately possible, it's called a courtesy delivery. Typically the dealer doing the delivery will charge $150-300 for doing it. You pay the taxes only once.

Ken, are you military? If so, look into the military car sales route. If not, Karpro is the man you want to speak with anyways

Go that route with the mainland dealer order and let dealers in Hawaii
just prep. for del. Yeah! dealers here are playing tight, knowing we have only a

Thanks, Irwin. That's my current plan. I PM'd Karpro to see if he can help me.

I'll be here in NY for another week and a half, and I'm hoping to get things squared away before I fly out to Hawaii.

Thanks for the encouragement,

Ken

Paul, can you do a courtesy delivery? What does it take to get the dealer on the other end to agree to this?

Ain't that the truth! Lived out there in the early 90s. Been looking to back for a while. Now the stars are lining up. If this last piece, falls into place - I'll have my dream car, as well.
